We've done a lot of the top ten and bottom ten movie lists.

For sure, for me, numero uno, best of the best is "Last of the Mohicans," with Daniel Day Lewis. No two ways about that.

A couple more but not necessarily in order:
Groundhog Day
Lost in Translation
Galaxy Quest
Die Hard

For me:

1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail

2. Casablanca

3. The Battle of Britain

4. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

5. The Abominable Dr. Phibes

That probably says something very disturbing about me, but it's too late in the evening for me to contemplate.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that likes Galaxy Quest. I swear it's taboo where I live. If I so much as even mention the title, 8 people snarl at me including one that wasn't close enough to hear the conversation.

I adore "Galaxy Quest." If I stumble on it while flipping through the channels, I'm compelled to drop what I'm doing and watch. I still laugh and laugh and laugh, no matter how many times I've seen it. It is a delightful film. I own it and love it.

Maggers, if you like Galaxy Quest, you'll like "Three Amigos!", too. Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Martin Short...."We are three amigos!......Ha!" Big Grin

Has anyone seen "Three Amigos!" ?

I also love Galaxy Quest. I've watched it many times. We watch Groundhog Day every year on the holiday. I also love Scrooged: "If I can't work late, I CAN'T WORK LATE."
Casablanca is number one.

I enjoy Big Trouble in Little China as well. It's one of my fave 80's flicks.

I love the Back to the Future films as well.

Always looking for a platform to promote some lesser known films, so here goes:

Bad Boys with Sean Penn, not the Smith/Lawrence guilty pleasure. A brutal look inside a juvie detention center and it has one of the great ass-whuppings in cinema history.

Excalibur the predecessor to today's epics. The battle scenes still hold up pretty well.

Princess Mononoke in particular, but anything by Hayao Miyazaki is worth a rent. PM is a gorgeous fantasy.
