My Collection - jimbow8 - 05-18-2005

I just got my copy of The Select, so I thought I would brag a little.

Here's the book I just got and my copy of Rakoshi.

And here's my bookshelf:

Circled in green are my "recently" read books;

Circled in red are on my "to read" list (stack of 3 books on bottom were graciously loaned to me by Scott Miller - I'll get to 'em, Scott Big Grin)

Top Shelf is miscellaneous: Christian, sports, and some fiction;
Second Shelf is Tolkien, FPW, and Stephen King;
Third Shelf is more King, plus a few assorted fiction;
On the desktop is some computer gaming manuals and hardcover copies of Bram Stoker's Dracula and King/Bachman's The Bachman Books, Daily Show's America and Top 40 Hits Big Grin

I know - more information than anyone wanted. :p

My wife would go ape shit if my book shelves were like that!

Come to think of it, they are, and she does. :o

Those bookshelves look pretty good to me. I've got 5 bookcases worth of books crammed into 2. Gotta break down and buy more books . . . I mean book cases. ha ha

Here's a picture of my collection. Top three shelves, plus my Goodkind's, Dark Towers, and Preston/Childs. This is one of eight bookshelves I have. It's a hobby... that takes up a lot of space. Big Grin If for some reason you want to see the rest of my collection (non-FPW), I can post it.

I like this thread! Most of my friends don't get my interest in books. I'm all about owning and keeping them. If I want to read it, I buy it. Sometimes I buy things I probably won't read, but that's okay. We're moving next month and I went through all my books last night and wrote down the title, author and binding of all of them. They were all neat and organized, but not anymore. I sorted them by author, then by the binding, etc. I haven't decided what to do with them when we move into the house. We'll have a lot more space so I think I'll put them on two bookshelves instead of the one they're jammed into now.

BTW, Jimbo, nice copy of the Select! I love that book. My copy is just a trade hardcover Sad

Thanks! It is in really good shape. It says "Gaylord cover protects dust jacket--FPT $ 22.00--Not price clipped!" I'm not a collector so I don't know what that means. I assume the Gaylord cover is the clear cover over the dust cover; no idea what "price clipped" means.

There was another copy on ebay that was actually cheaper (didn't see it before I bid), so keep your eye out if you want to get a better copy.

This is probably my favorite non-RJ/AC book of Paul's. It is such a great succinct plot. It's not flashy or overly drawn out - just a SOLID story. It practically begs to be made into a movie, in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more! The suspense in that story is unbelieveable. I finished it in no time because I had to know how it played out towards the end!

I recognize most of the books. But, what are the books:
[indent]Second shelf down, 6 from the right
Third shelf down, 5 and 8 from the left?
