I just finished Sims and I really enjoyed it! I couldn't guess the final twist at the end until it was revealed--which is very refreshing after going through several James Patterson and Tony Hillerman "mysteries" with their predictable plots. Now I'm waiting for Amazon.com to deliver The Barrens and Others, A Scanner Darkly and M*A*S*H.

I love Sims too Big Grin . It's tied with Black Wind as my favorite FPW book. The story is awesome and you come away considering what side of the situation you'd be on which will come in handy as we get closer to situations like that. It wasn't preachy either, which I really enjoy.

LOL! I hear ya! My husband is regularly annoyed that I'd rather read than watch lousy TV shows and stuff.

There's very little on TV I'd rather watch than read.
I only watch:
The History Channel
NFL Sunday Ticket
NHL Center Ice (but alas not this year)
Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh
and occasionally ESPN or the NFL Channel.

oh god, so is my husband. He and my son will argue over what to watch and they'll ask me which one. I'll just look up from my book and go "huh?" I'm much happier reading then watching TV. I've been like that ever since I was young and got the whole Nancy Drew series, reading under the bed covers at night with a flashlite. How many others here used to do that?

Medusa, you are so right! I did the same thing. Loved Nancy Drew and Cherry Ames, Student Nurse, who also solved crimes. I never understood how those little towns had so many mysteries to investigate.

I think that's what makes this board special and interesting. We're readers. Yes, we like movies, theater and television, but first and foremost, for the majority of us, a book beats anything for grand entertainment.
