Family Guy Is Back! - ccosborne3 - 01-16-2005 Yeah, that's right. Family Guy is making it's triumphant return on Fox Sunday night. The animation sucked. The writing was first rate. Truly funny stuff. I picked up the first two seasons on dvd earlier in the year and really loved the show. Great characters, zillions of pop culture references and some of the best lines ever. This bit is my favorite from season one. The local mob boss wants Peter to perform a service. Peter So what do you want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? Because I'm married. Mob boss All you have to do is go to the movies with Fat Paulie. Peter OK, but If it's anything with Greg Kinnear you can whack me off right now! I hope the show is still funny after such a long layoff. Family Guy Is Back! - jimbow8 - 01-16-2005 I love that show. Unfortunately I haven't seen it in a long time since I hadn't had cable for over a year. I don't think the animation sucked, though. I think the favorite episode that I remember is when Norm McDonald played Death. Peter did something stupid to cause Death to sprain his ankle, and Peter had to perform Death's job for him. Hilarious! Family Guy Is Back! - Blake - 01-16-2005 YES!! I so missed Family Guy. One of my favorite bits from the first three seasons (all of which I have on DVD, of course) was the Scooby Doo bit: Fred: "Gee whiz, gang.... Looks like the killer gutted the victim, strangled him with his own intestines, and then dumped the body in the river!" Velma: "Jinkies! What a mystery!" (Scooby yelps, then jumps into Shaggy's arms) Fred: "You're right, Scoob. We're dealing with one sick son of a bitch." Blake Family Guy Is Back! - Marc - 01-16-2005 Just checked tvguide.com and it's one for an hour but it's two rerun episodes. Family Guy Is Back! - ccosborne3 - 01-16-2005 Marc B. They are billing tonight's episodes on their commercials as the return of Family Guy. Misleading bastards. Thanks Marc B. I would have been pissed off to have been duped by the evil suits over at Fox. I'm still going to tune in. Family Guy Is Back! - jimbow8 - 01-16-2005 ccosborne3 Wrote:Damn! It was my undertstanding that new episodes of Family Guy weren't going to air until next fall because McFarlan (sic) was finishing up the episodes for his new animated series for Fox called American Dad. That was suppose to start in January though I haven't seen any previews since the original announcement back in August or so. Family Guy Is Back! - ccosborne3 - 01-16-2005 Marc B. They'll have previews up the ass for it next week during the championship game. Family Guy Is Back! - mike36799 - 01-18-2005 I was told Americian Dad, and Family Guy were going to be going on at the same time. I've been waiting to get back into some Family Guy for a long long time. Seen every episode, and it is classic humor. Gotta love Stewy, but in all honesty it's probrably one of the one shows I can think of where every character is so uniquie. I think that makes the show so unique, being able to hit so many angles. |
