SIMS - The Whole Story - Maggers - 01-06-2005 I just finished SIMS, and I must say that it's my favorite non-AC, non-RJ novel by the Man. Gripping, relevent, scary in its believability, with great characters and a very warm touch. As usual with FPW's works, I read like a house afire, and then have to put the book down for a few moments because I'm so wound up - I can't bear then tension. Then I've got to begin reading again because I've got to know what happens. It's an approach to reading that is a tad schizophrenic, all engendered by FPW's amazing ability to create wickedly taut and compelling stories. Wonderful, wonderful book! SIMS - The Whole Story - cyber-jack - 01-12-2005 According to Cemetery Dance's most recent newsletter, Sims 4 should be arriving in their warehouse next week, and will presumably start shipping soon after. They also claim that Midnight Mass will be arriving soon afterwards. I'm not going to hold my breath on this news, but I will say that it's about f*&^%$# time! We should see Sims 5 just before I sign up for bingo at the nursing home... SIMS - The Whole Story - EGWilliams - 01-13-2005 Paul R Wrote:I second all of that! Can I third it? Just finished reading it 30 minutes ago. Haven't posted here since right after I met the Man at Horrorfind this year. In my opinion, SIMS was the most well written of the eight FPW books I have read so far. It just worked so well on all the different levels (science, ethics, conspiracy, etc.) it touched on. As for the possible TV mini series, I just worry about them pulling off the look of the sims cost effectively. If the make-up artist can't pull that off, I honestly think that it will doom the production no matter how good the script or the rest of the production is. Are you in Arizona and where you the guy with the Keep hardback that wanted it signed? KRW SIMS - The Whole Story - EGWilliams - 01-16-2005 KRW Wrote:So, you where at Horrorfind this year. Totally forgot there was the Arizona one around Halloween. Was it a fun time? I knew of ten people that wanted to attend but didn't for some reason or another. I didn't leave myself a whole lot of time on that day either, but I enjoyed hearing him read his story! And I had my first copy of The Tomb autographed! It's the one I always loaned out, and it showed it! The autograph was for me and no one else. I have since retired it. Put it out to pasture. I believe it has done it's job, to say the least! But from that one book, he has a lot more fans! I hope you had as much fun as I! I guess he was filling in at the last minute for the announced author that didn't make it. Would have loved to get my copy of "Light at the End" signed. What has Skipp (and Specter) been up to lately? Are they still writing? |
