New Hannibal tv show - baldhiker - 04-04-2013 I remember when I first heard about the book "Hannibal", I was hoping that Harris had gone back to tell the story of Graham and Lecter's first meeting, which was talked about in Red Dragon but never expanded on. Now this show is doing just that, and I couldn't be happier. Mikkelsen was great in Casino Royale. Can't wait to see this. (By the way, "Manhunter" is one of my all time favorite films, despite the terrible 80'2 music). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/maureen-ryan/hannibal-nbc_b_3014869.html?utm_hp_ref=reality-free#slide=more281040 New Hannibal tv show - johntfs - 04-04-2013 I probably won't be catching this one. First, it's on against Elementary. Second, I don't how see how anybody taking the role of Hannibal Lector will be anything but inferior in that role compared to Sir Anthony Hopkins. New Hannibal tv show - Tony H - 04-11-2013 I watched it and was quite pleased. The guy playing Lechter is rather good. Yes, he will be judged against Hopkins' portrayal of the character though we have to remember that Sir Anthony did not originate the role. The premier was suspenseful, violent, and filled with interesting characters. The actor playing Will Graham sticks more closely to how the character was depicted in Manhunter, not Red Dragon. I don't know how they will keep this going without the formula going stale quickly. It seems they will have a villain of the week with Graham and Lechter playing Holmes and Watson until the inevitable reveal. IDK, he seems to be doing a good job at playing the madman. |
