Twilight Zone - Sigokat - 03-21-2012 I received the complete Twilight Zone collection for Christmas and have been slowly making my way through the episodes and am about half way thru season 2 (out of 6). I always considered myself a Twilight Zone geek and no more about most of the episodes than most, but with 156 episodes I am fidning alot that I have never seen before and alot of them are really good. Besides some of the infamous epsidoes like "Eye of the Beholder, Time Enough to Last, To Serve Man, The Invaders, Third from the Sun, etc." what are some people's favorite episodes? The other night I watched Twenty Two which was really good. Had a real sense of creepiness and dread. Its also great seeing actors from so many other shows from that time. Twenty Two had Mr. Smith (can't remember the actor's name) from Lost In Space and he was just as creepy in the TZ as in LiS. Twilight Zone - Tony H - 03-21-2012 The one where the Nazi war criminal gets trapped in the old concentration camp and is tormented by the ghosts is pretty creepy and powerful. You probably hated that one though. You probably hated that one though. You're such a jerk sometimes LOL And I know which one you are talking about, Death's Head Revisited. And it was...okay. Twilight Zone - Fenian1916 - 03-21-2012 The Howling Man is my favorite episode and the one where the Professor from Gilligan's Island goes back in time to try and stop Lincoln's assassination Twilight Zone - Sigokat - 03-21-2012 Fenian1916 Wrote:The Howling Man is my favorite episode and the one where the Professor from Gilligan's Island goes back in time to try and stop Lincoln's assassination I just watched both of those recently. At least in the Lincoln one the Professor didn't get himself killed so easily like he did in the episode he was in during season 1 Twilight Zone - Tony H - 03-21-2012 I also like the one where the people are trapped in round room and can't get out and it turns out they are dolls in a charity bin. Also, the one with the couple who can't seem to get out of town and they discover everything is fake. At the end it turns out they are dolls in a dollhouse. Twilight Zone had several episodes that were very similar. I also like the "Room for one more, honey" episode. Twilight Zone - Sigokat - 03-21-2012 The "room for one more, honey" was the one I talked about in the original post, "Twenty Two" Twilight Zone - cobalt - 03-21-2012 To Serve Man was one of my favorites and the other was with Burgess Merridith as the librarian accused of being obsolete. I think that was the name of the episode too. I love the Twilight Zone and am making my way through it as well. My brother got it for me for X-mas a few years ago and I am in Season 4, which as I am sure you probably know is where they switched to the hour format. I liked Twenty Two, I hated that it was one of the ones filmed on video as the quality of the video seems to hurt those 6 that were filmed that way. Its funny I thought the same way, that I knew a lot about TZ, but after making my way through the series I realize that there were a lot more I didn't know and a lot more lesser known good ones that stack up just as well, as the more well known ones. I love Walking Distance, The Lonely, People are Alike All Over, so many good ones. Lastly, don't mean to nitpick, but as I understand it, there are only 5 seasons. 1959-1964. Twilight Zone - Sigokat - 03-21-2012 Hmmm, I know I have 6 boxes of discs, maybe the last one is all special features. I didn't really look that closely when I got it. I will have to verify tonight. Thanks for the info! And as to the ones filmed on video, yeah they are...strange. The quality of Twenty Two was not that great and I attributed that to the quality of the original print they used to transfer to DVD. The only one that I think I kind of like in video is "Long Distance Phone Call", but that one is creepy anyways because of Billy Mumy. The other one with him, where he was the evil child in the town, was also creepy, something about that kid...freaky. |
