Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Tony H - 09-25-2011 I know I am going to get shit for this, I am positive people are going to talk smack behind my back, but I of course am turning to the people on the board whom I consider friends, to take advantage of that friendship by begging for help in funding our Genrefinity: The Movie project on Kickstarter. http://kck.st/nTSG44 I am not going to go into detail about the project here, that is all on the Kickstarter page. But I do know that in the past, the forum has been gracious in supporting indie projects. A while back a comic book artist was able to fund his indie project by having his link posted here. I will say that the film is being written by me, Marc, and creative input by Mike Turman (Aphew). The original 4-episode series sits at a 92% certified funny rating on Funny or Die, and we are offering some great incentives. So with all that said, help out in anyway you can. Even if you can only contribute a few bucks. The best part about Kickstarter is that you will not pay a thing unless the project is fully funded. You are simply making a pledge. Thank you for at least reading what I have to say, and I promise, I will not spam the board further. Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 09-25-2011 I have a buck or two to toss in the pot, Tony. But how to do it? You can count on Little Blues. Just clue me in. Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Alvin Fox - 09-25-2011 So, are all Producers people who've paid a substantial amount of money to help get a movie made? Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 09-25-2011 Not for a second. Producers =gather= the coin. Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Tony H - 09-25-2011 Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:Not for a second. Producers =gather= the coin. True, Producers typically do what I am doing now. They go out and procure funds from their list of contacts, banks, and other backers. But,, films also toss "producer" credits on people who contribute large sums of money to the project. Because basically, the film could not have been produced without their assistance. To contribute Mike, all you have to is go to this link http://kck.st/nTSG44, select which package you wish to contribute to. (You can choose a package to pledge to or you can change the pledge amount to something lower than the 25.00 incentive deals. Minimum pledges are a dollar though) Don't hate me, but Kickstarter uses your nemesis to handle transactions. They are processed through Amazon, so you might have to create an Amazon account. (I KNOW! I am so sorry) Also, keep in mind you will not be charged unless the project reaches its funding goal. Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Alvin Fox - 09-25-2011 It seems like a very short amount of time to build up that amount. But since I am largely unfamiliar with Kickstarter and not familiar at all with raising money for a movie, what do I know? LOL, I think it is a short time too, but I think there is some ground rules for Kickstarter campaigns, such as time limits and all that jazz. I wish I had media contact and such to get this thing some footing, but for right now I am trying to establish a tell-a-friend to tell-a-friend campaign, word of mouth kind of deal. This is all the very beginning, the script has just been started, but we need funding before hand so we can secure actors, pay for permits, secure equipment and pay for post-production work such as music and such. We also have to find someone to play a New York Times Bestselling Author who gets kidnapped at convention called The Grand Unification. Do you really think Nora Roberts will want to be in the movie? Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 09-25-2011 Ceertainly. The lovely and wonderful Nora will play The Lady. And the best-selling author ain't about to get kidnapped. The author is packin' big-time heat. So are his many friends. They're Julio's patrons. Best not to fuck with that crew. They ain't too mild. Kickstarter campaign-genrefinity - Marc - 09-25-2011 The reason for the 45 day run is because Kickstarter only allows a max of 60 days, but recommends 30. As they explain, the world of the internet moves fast so having something up for an extended period of time won't necessarily help. That's why I went with a nice middle number. |
