Was Glaeken Jesus?

Glaeken - rjack_fan - 09-19-2011

That's a new one. Care to expand on this theory? I have not considered that view point, but i'm curious what brought you there. Sounds like an interesting discussion.

Glaeken cannot do any of the things that Jesus did (Glaeken can heal at an accelerated rate, but cannot heal others; probably wouldn't spend a lot of time either teaching in synagogues or debating with Jewish leaders; Glaeken does not seem to have the ability to drive out or command (otherness-related) demons).

Read the gospels and examine what Jesus did and what he said, and you may agree that also their personalities are totally different.

It is true that if the things that were done to Jesus during the Crucifixion were done to Glaeken, he would probably slowly heal over a period of days and escape (unless he was buried, rather than entombed). I think that's pretty much the only parallel between the two.

If I missed more parallels and the case is stronger, please point them out!

Considering Rasalom has been incorporated into human legend as several evil things, all partly true partly not, I would be willing to consider the same may have happened to Glaeken. Looking forward to hearing the thought behind the theory.

Jesus expressed himself as the Messiah.

Glaeken, as far as I recall, was only a man--a great, brave man--fated to duel Rasalom across the eons.

RANCID SPOILER

I've been many times to the place where Glaeken and Rasalom have their final battle.

And how richly deserved was Rasaom's fate.

Interesting idea.

I myself always wondered whether Glaeken, in the FPW-verse, was the source of the legends surrounding King Arthur and the sword Excalibur.

Glaeken - mjolnir - 09-25-2011

No real thoughts on this, just ideas. With people being the way they are, could they have read more into Glaekens activities than they should have.
Personally, I would love FPW to expand on the idea as well as A-dono's idea about King Arthur.

Interesting thoughts!

I can't recall a whole lotta talk about God in Jack's world.

I suspect Paul, like most physicians, is an atheist.

Meself, I believe in the Creator.

Otherwise, the incredible Universe wouldn't make any sense at all.

I quit expecting things to make sense a long time ago.

The Universe is Chaos.

I can see lot more to be said for Glaeken being the inspiration for King Arthur, Roland, Gilgamesh etc. than Jesus.

Glaeken is more of a fighter, especially the first time we meet him in Demonsong.
