A Game of Thrones - Tall Tyrion - 04-10-2011 Anyone else planning to watch this? I've made arrangements to crash my niece's HBO in order to catch it. Usually, I can wait for any movie or TV show, but I've been such a big fan of Martin for so long that I'm making an exception for this. They showed a sneak preview on April third that you can catch here: http://www.makinggameofthrones.com/ A Game of Thrones - Scott Miller - 04-10-2011 Tall Tyrion Wrote:Anyone else planning to watch this? I do plan on watching as much as I can before our three months of free premium channels runs out but may consider keeping this one alive to see it through the end if its any god. I did just watch the premier episode of Camelot and it was okay; I felt like it was a poor man's version of Excalibur. I'll watch a couple more before I make up my mind on it. I am left with a very poor opinion of the man given what he did with the latest installments. Although on the plus side, he is finally going to publish the latest book very soon (I think it may have to do with HBO putting pressure on getting a new book out to connect to the new series). I do want to see this though, I don't have HBO so will have to resort to either doing as your doing and crashing someones HBO or finding somewhere to view it online. Hope it lives up to the books. A Game of Thrones - William Malmborg - 04-10-2011 I'm looking forward to this and plan on watching it. I read the first three books back in 2006 and 2007 and thougt it was one of the best fantasy epics I had ever opened. For some reason I haven't read the forth book yet, though. Not sure how it keeps getting put off. Exactly! Even the sword looks the same. If you watch the next episode there is a blatant rip off scene straight out of Excalibur. Unless John Boorman is connected with the production he should sue the crap out of them. The chick that Portays Morgan is impossibly hot. A Game of Thrones - Anemone of the State - 04-11-2011 HBO is one of the channels I do subscribe to because of their original programs. Game of Thrones looks promising, and I'll be watching the entire series. I'm a bit fortunate in that my wife also loves Sci-Fi & fantasy, so she's looking forward to it as well. Side note - I've turned my wife on to Dr. Wilson's books, but her English isn't to the point of being able to read the original versions, just the Japanese translations. But she's already hooked. I'm also preparing my daughter for her initiation into the Adversary/Jack series. A Game of Thrones - The Mad American - 04-11-2011 ccosborne3 Wrote:Exactly! Even the sword looks the same. Yeah I had the same thought about Boorman. The only thing this version is missing is all the super shiny armor. And yes on the woman who plays Morgan. Yes. Not sure how it keeps getting put off. You're not missing much by not reading the 4th book yet. There was so little story or plot movement in that book and it barely mentions or deals with some of the biggest characters in the books (Jon Snow and Daenerys). I don't plan on buying or reading any more of Martin's books until he finishes this series. And I LOVED the first three books. Oddly enough Helen Mirren had it too in the same role. A John Boorman Fun Fact! The woman that played Legrayne ( naked throughout and raped to boot) was his daughter. How do you cast a family member in a role like that? |
