It looks very interesting but the paperback price is about 12 dollars, which seems steep. I am almost tempted to download the Kindle app on my pc just to read it.

Afraid by Kilborn, who I think is Konrath as well sounds very cool as well. Even F. Paul Wilson gave a good blurb on the Amazon.com reviews that they list.

Great book! I would recommend it. I've read it several times. J. A. Konrath writes some great stuff. Also would recommend The List.

I have read Origin and really liked it. You are right Konrath and Kilborn are the same person, at least that is what we are told.Wink

I would recommend the Kindle app(only negative is reading on a comp screen rather than a Kindle screen that isn't backlit) if you don't have an eReader. Konrath sets his Kindle prices really nicely and you could get most of his stuff for $2.99. An absolute steal in my opinion. Origin is a good start and there is other really good stuff to be had in his catalogue.

Afraid is an excellent read and features one the most disgusting scenes(I just got a shiver thinking about it)it has been my pleasure to read. Trapped is also gruesomely entertaining.
