I don't want to see the spoilers, but I have to ask. What is LOST about and what makes it as amazing as it obviously is?? I would appreciate the help.Smile

It's a brilliant show, original, wonderfully written, extraordinarily shot, and is like watching a theatrical movie every week. Not only is the story rich, but the characters, with a few exceptions, are well drawn and we come to love them or like them very much. It's a great story, a good old rollicking tale.

Other than that, Libby, you just need to watch the show.

Wow. It sound impressive. I don't like shows that are either just action and no characters or just characters and no action. I will check with borders for the first season. Thank you!Smile

In a way it's the best show ever about how people react and interact with one another. There are flash backs and at first each episode deals with an individual character and their story. How the other characters react is amazing, you see things from not just one point of view but many. You can dislike someone for what they do in one episode but then see later why they did it and you love them for it.

If you've ever been let down before because everybody raves about something and when you finally see it you were maybe expecting more...don't worry. The show delivers.

Thanks a lot! That is really helpful. I am happy to know that Lost is as amazing as it sounds.Big Grin

I'm in the same boat, Libby. Heard about it ALL the time but never watched it.

I finally caved last weekend - started watching season 1 on Netflix. Well, it wasn't exactly caving. I've always figured I would watch it eventually but I didn't want to start until I could see it from start to finish with waiting months between seasons, especially since I've heard that the plot gets pretty tangled as it goes on.

So far (about 7 episodes into it) I like it a lot. One thing I noticed in the first episode (not a spoiler) the airplane pilot was played by the actor who now plays Matt Parkman on "Heroes". That was kind of amusing.

I hope so. "Heroes" got so many raves that I started watching that a couple of months ago or so (also on Netflix) and I'm all caught up now to the current season/episode. What a disappointment that show turned into. I don't know how you turn a show about a bunch of people with superpowers into a snoozefest, but they managed.

It is a beautiful show to watch from what I've seen so far. The beach, the jungle ... the island itself is just gorgeous.

I didn't start watching the show until its 3rd season was about to begin. I knew it was a series that had to be seen from the beginning, and I began what has become a ritual for me. I watched Season 1 and Season 2 in a weekend marathon. OMG I was hooked.

So since Season 3, I've watched the show as it has aired. I watch it all over again from the very beginning at the advent of every season. All of which is to say, I've seen every episode at least 10 times. It has become like music for me, I play it in the background a lot, as I do things around my home.

And speaking of music, the score for LOST is ASTOUNDING. I love the music, and so do all the writers, directors, and creators of LOST, who give huge amounts of credit to Michael Giacchino, the music man behind LOST.
