Anybody Seen The Road? - GeraldRice - 12-08-2009 I want to know if this is a theater-worthy movie or if I should just wait until it comes out on DVD. Anybody Seen The Road? - colburn0004 - 12-08-2009 I'm interested in this movie as well. I was hearing possitive buzz out of the film festival runs but other than that havent heard much. Anybody Seen The Road? - The Mad American - 12-17-2009 Read the book and since it was such a feel good book I am skipping this for the holiday movie season. Want to see it as well but will wait on the DVD I think. Anybody Seen The Road? - Medusa - 12-17-2009 I wanted to see this but here its being treated like an indie film. Its only playing one theater in all of Houston in the museum district at a theater that gets all the indies. I was disappointed. They pumped it up with all the trailers at our nearby theater and then no one gets it. I guess I'll be waiting for the DVD too. But it looks boring to my wife. We're probably taking the kiddie poo to see "The Princess and the Frog" this weekend. We're probably taking the kiddie poo to see "The Princess and the Frog" this weekend. Took Gracie and a friend, along with Harper to see "The Princess and the Frog" this last saturday. It was cool to see a Disney movie with a brown princess for Gracie to watch. Also it has the old school, hand drawn look to it. Was lots of fun until Harper decided to throw up on me about 3/4 of the way through the movie (was chipmunking popcorn and gagged himself..ugh). Anybody Seen The Road? - Sigokat - 12-31-2009 I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did buy the book the other day, so I'm wondering...should I read the book first or wait to see the movie? Or does it not really matter one way or the other? Any help would be great. I picked up another book as well that I can always read in place of The Road if that's the best course of action. I only read the book and it was excellent. The writing style takes a little getting used to, but McCarthy will grab you by the heart and just wrench. It was especially hard to read some of those scenes being a parent. I enjoyed the book much more on my second read, about a year after I first read it. Mainly because I knew what to expect from the writing style the second time and I was able to get deeper into the story. Wrenching is right. Gawd! Anybody Seen The Road? - Sigokat - 12-31-2009 Thanks, Gerald and Webby. I'm almost finished with Bravo Two Zero so it looks like I'll start The Road next. |
