I've been watching this movie, LOST IN AUSTEN, the past few nights as it is just under three hours and I must replay some scenes as the British accents are a bit diificult for me to follow. But I must say, this is a damn fine movie.

In short, a Jane Austen fan finds a "magic" door in her bathroom that transports her into her favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, and Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of P & P, is hurled into modern London. No, this is not a comedy, but a drama (with a shade of fantasy/sf). If you're a Jane Austen fan, as am I, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. If you think Jane Austen writes "chick" books, you'd best pass on this and go see Bruno.

P.S. My jaw dropped when we are jolted back into modern day London after spending virtually all our time in the 19th century. Seamless.

When I watched Gosford Park I had to watch it with the subtitles on because I couldnt understand anything they were saying. Their brittish accents were really thick.

Which is funny because I love british sitcoms and I have no problem understanding them ...

hmmmm... are there different british accents? like there are different american accents ..

Sorry AC - I went off topic Smile

I wish it had subtitles but as the dvd is a preview copy, there are no subtitle options, thus I must replay some scenes again and again. If the retail copy has already shipped, I will be adding it to my want list.

Then they need to hire the sitcom actors for the movies so we can understand them!
