This is the new movie based on the two max payne video games (of which I am a huge fan) . I haven't seen a thread on it yet so... ...here it is.

It stars: Mark Wahlberg, Ludacris, and Mila Kunis.

What do you guys think?

Looks very good. I never played the game, so I was a little confused by the trailer. Is there an actual supernatural story going on, or is it purely metaphorical?

Hi there and welcome JessC.

Well, in the video game, the main character (max) was drugged using an experimental drug called Valkyr, or V. The drug causes him to have nightmares, and see the Valkyrie angels in the trailer. The valkyrie are from a Norse myth/legend and are said to take brave people who die into Valhalla which is the promised land/heaven. That's all I know.

But I can't say if they are supposed to be real in the movie or not.

I've never played the game, but that trailer looks like "Maverick Cop vs. the Crow People." Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

Today I went to see Max Payne. It was good but not so great. Based on the video game, so the storyline was weak. I liked Resident Evil series, but Max Payne was almost empty like Mortal Kombat or JCVD's Street Fighter.

Director, John Moore has no sense of visual.
