Glaeken explains Jack that during the First Age Q’qr women were made to die, in the hope of fully exterminating the Q’qr race. Unfortunately it backfired, the Q’qr men attacking human women and raping them. The half-blood Q’qr subsequently born were not retrofitted like their fathers, but were as violent. All half Q’qr were isolated on an island, and a cleansing flood was sent on our little corner of reality. In the slight confusion that ensued, half Q’qr and full humans mated, thus ensuring the dissemination of oDNA in our genes.
Now, compare with Genesis 6:
1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
The Otherness could be called a God, couldn’t he? A badass one, granted, but still. And the Bible doesn’t say that God (the one you are supposed to believe into if you do not want to land in hell) had a wife.
took them wives: could be an euphemism for rape. Anyway the Bible never struck me as a PC book, especially where women rights are concerned.
4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
mighty men. Bingo. If Q’qr were powerful, their children had to be quite powerful too. And they are called “men” because they were not retrofitted, thus looking like men and not like Q’qr.
12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
God sends the cleansing flow. The Nephilims unfortunately could swim and be back for new adventures.
