Today I saw NEXT.

It says "Based on the novel by Philp K. Dick", but I don't think so. I read original short story, "The Golden Man". But in this movie, Nicolas Cage wasn't golden man. I guess script writers didn't read short story! They shouldn't say this is based on the novel of PKD. It's insulting to Philip K. Dick.

Some action sequences forced a smile to me. Oh, this movie had many stupid scenes. He said "I can see two minutes future", but clearly he could foresee the far future.

I was waiting for the movie of The Man in High Castle. Who can make the movie? I'm not sure now...

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE? I just don't understand how that book won a Hugo. But I don't think it's filmable. No exciting action, which, after all, is why we go see flicks. (Oh, I can hear the objections now!: "But, Blues, what about...?):pWinkBig Grin

I had to see Next and, admitedly, in the end Nic Cage started seeing further into the future than the initial two minutes. It was explained that being around Jessica Biel helped him see farther than two minutes but then even when he wasn't around her he was seeing farther ahead. But then the whole thing is moot because
the last half of the movie wasn't 'real'.
Oh, and I had to see it because I was an extra in the casino scenes. Not that I'm in the movie. They paid me $250 to be in a background scene that they didn't even use. Big Grin

But, Blues....I know it's hard to make the movie of THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE. That's why I want to see the movie. Yes, it's no exciting action. But I like that twisted story. Wink

Ah, I see. But wait a minute!
The last half of the movie was "dream" or "foresee"?
..........I confused.

I thought this was going to be about Michael Crichton's book Next, which is VERY good.

Thought the Nicholas Cage movie was okay, but not that excellent. Smile

Nicholas Cage's best movie is "Wild at heart". That was excellent. But "NEXT" was......yeah, not that excellent, indeed.

I don't want to complain, but it was tough. I did two 13 hour days being an extra. In my time off before, after and between those shifts I went to work. During a three day period I got about 4 hours of sleep. It wasn't in Vegas though. At a casino about 100 miles east of Los Angeles.
