How much I love this FPW guy's books... - Barry Lee Dejasu - 12-17-2007

I just pre-ordered the 10th anniversary edition of Legacies this morning. As of now, I will be billed $251 on December 31st for that, Secret Histories (with slipcase), and By the Sword.

I keep telling myself A) I can afford it, B) It's worth it, and C) I can afford it, but I keep getting a nagging, nail-biting sensation when I think about it. Could anyone play the greedy little devil perched on my shoulder and give me the proverbial pat on the back so I don't completely succumb to that feeling called "guilt?" I mean, it's FPW; it's worth it. (But...)

Why are you feeling guilty? Its your money, right? Its your choice...so you can spend it how you please...if you buy books instead of say, paying the electrical bill, then its still your choice and you live with the consequences. It doesn't matter if its FPW books or a new car...you want it...you can afford it...you buy it...you face the consquences (if there are any) when they arise. End of story.

I'm going to buy the limited edition Advesary Cycle...why? Because I want it...plain and simple. Its my money...I earned it...and I'll do what I please with it...even though I just recently had a $1200 stereo system installed in my Mustang (the one I spent $3k+ on with upgrades and a new paint job while I was in Georgia) and a $200 iPod...I'll pay $360 for the books because I want them.

'nuff said.

Captain Sig speaks the truth, Barry! There are a =lot= worse things to spend coin on than books. And one of Paul's? C'mon, hombre! Look at it this way: you're contributing to Paul's tactical nuclear missle fund. And we know he'll launch that bird only for the goodness and justice of all.

Thanks for the heads up that it was already taking orders

Also three to pay for on the 31st

All I can say is thank you Mr Bush for your economic mis-management that means us Brits get more bang for our bucks

Still the kids can cope without shoes for another few months Big Grin

Dave...it's to your honor you think about the kids first. But how about yourself? Don't you find your hooves are getting worn down on the ancient cobblestones of Leeds?Sad

You said it Mike! An hour with a high-priced call girl might cost twice as much! And the joy of having these books will last for years as opposed to, what, 20 seconds? Big Grin

I'm grinning ear-to-ear and almost laughing aloud - thanks for all the (extra) post-encouragement, guys. I've been feeling 100% good about this for most of the day, but now you can see my 100 and raise it another 48%.

Alright - THREE RJ books in the months to come!!
