Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - Marc - 05-22-2007 I assume I'm not the only one who watched Heroes this season. While I greatly enjoyed the series I was letdown by the finale last night. The climax was weak (they were building up to a good showdown between Peter and Sylar), Nathan coming in and whisking Peter away was lame and all the heroes just sitting around and watching was stupid. This was not a worthy episode of such a terrific series. Anyone else watch it? Thoughts? Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - Towka - 05-22-2007 I also think it was a very weak ending. If you remember the other two encounters between Sylar and Peter (in Suresh's appartement/in the future), this one was pretty unimpressive. And it's great that they know they gonna produce another season, but this cliffhangering (Hiro in the past, what exactly happened to Peter, why had Sylar to escape once again?) they got going, the end was pretty non-satisfactory. If we normally couldn't wait one week and nearly "starved" during their break, how are we gonna get over the next months after this ending? Well, there are enough other good TV-shows out there, so at least I won't suffer ... that much. Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - Scott Hajek - 05-23-2007 The climax was a bit weak, but most of the "heroes" were injured, tending to the injured or dead. They couldn't do much other than sit around and watch the flying man explode. I was a few weeks behind, so I had to watch the last few episodes online. I just caught up last night. Dumping Hiro in medieval Japan was great! Was that Sulu as the lone horseman with the funky tattoo symbol as his herald? Did the reference to the Kensei story of the Dragon as the teacher parallel Hiro's father, or the painting of Future Hiro with the dinosaur? Will "Volume 2: Generations" explain the history of Mama Petrelli, Shaft, Sulu and Linderman? My theory is that Peter will survive since Sylar was still alive: Good side v. Dark side. Don't know about flying man. How could he survive. At least Peter could fly back after he went nova. My favorite part in the finale was when Thompson pulled a gun on Parkman and asked "What am I thinking now?" Then Bennett said "Your last thought" and pumped two rounds into him. Classic. Though, between the finale and the episode prior, there were a few minor differences with the recap: one shot v. two, DL apparently dying v. phasing through the wall. Anyone else notice these? Even with a weak climax, I'm looking forward to Heroes 2nd season more than other returning shows including 24 (this last season went down hill quite a bit.) Heroes, like LOST, is still a strong show even when they occasionally misstep with an episode. I'll be back for Vol. 2. (And you're right... "24" did fall apart the last 6 or 7 episodes.) Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - cdove - 05-23-2007 I couldn't understand why Nathan ended up flying Peter away to explode instead of just letting the Cheerleader shoot him. Afterward, they could have removed the bullet, and all would have been well. Instead, Nathan committed suicide in order to accomplish what? Never mind the fact that Peter could have flown himself away to explode. Also, if they all knew that Sylar was stronger than Peter, and had the same abilities, why didn't any of them think that a sword in the chest just may not kill him. It was all kind of a letdown, but I'm hoping that Volume 2 is a little more exciting. Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - Scott Hajek - 05-23-2007 Marc B. Wrote:Heroes, like LOST, is still a strong show even when they occasionally misstep with an episode. I'll be back for Vol. 2. LOST had several individual missteps this past season, but the last few episodes were fantastic! Season 5 of 24 was the best by far. At the start of this season, I thought it would be better, especially with the nuke wiping out part of California, but it went downhill from there. There were some good "Jack" (the other Jack) moments, but all in all, the series didn't live up to last year. With regard to Heroes, I wonder how much they planned based on the lousy track record for shows like it. "Surface" and "Invasion" both had unusual premises, but tanked. Heroes succeeded based on the characters, but going a full season with a renewal was something they may not have planned for originally. Did they have the end of season one orginally written with the "bomb" going off? At least, that is the theory I made up in my head when the same thought occurred to me while I was watching the show. And an excellent theory it is. It makes sense. Heroes Finale *SPOILERS* - Paige - 05-27-2007 It wasn’t the best episode but I liked it. I liked that the showdown with Syler was with fists and not powers. Yeah, they could have went all out and but they would have matched each other blow by blow and at the end of the day it showed that they both human. I loved Nathan at the end. His "i love you" made me tear up. I'm such a girl As far as why Peter just didn't fly away by himself, the creator of the series mention something along the lines of Peter being unable to control any of his powers. It's a slim logical margin, but it is there. I wish I could find the article. Besides, if I can suppress are disbelieve at the radioactive man, I can suppress my disbelieve that Peter wasn't able to fly. **FUTURE SEASON SPOILERS** *
Word on the street is that both of the Petrelli brothers are going to be back. Both very much alive.
