Extras - Marc - 01-20-2007 Anyone watching this season? Although still funny, it seems really harsh and (somewhat) depressing this season even. Extras - Maggers - 01-21-2007 http://www.repairmanjack.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4220&page=2 This thread begins with discussion of Season One; the last few posts are about Season Two. So far I like the first season better, also. But I'm willing to wait and see what happens. I LOVE the scene in the first episode of Season 2 where Gervais is trying to direct the chronically late character in the series. I've seen it three times, and each time I laugh until I cry. It's hilarious. Hi-f^&king-larious. And Lenny Henry is another staple of British TV in the 80's and 90's. "There are no funny british black comedians" Ricky looks at a picture of Lenny Henry. He says nothing. Genius. It was funny not knowing the background, but even more so for you guys who know it so well. Gervais does translate well on this side of the pond, even with all the British pop culture based jokes. Though I must admit, I often have to watch with subtitles so I can catch all the dialogue. I know, you find that hilarious, too. Extras - ccosborne3 - 01-30-2007 It's still a funny show but it is a little depressing. I hope the season ends on a more positive note. Last weeks episode with the kid who plays Harry Potter was quite funny and not nearly as depressing as the first couple of episodes. Extras - ccosborne3 - 01-30-2007 Marc B. Last weeks episode was the Awards show. Funny stuff but I'm getting tired of feeling sorry for Andy. Anyone else think Extras is reminiscent of Curb Your Enthusiasm? Extras - Marc - 01-30-2007 Ahh... Extras conflicts with another show so I've been watching them On Demand. I thought I was caught up... guess not. I'll have to check it out tonight. Anyone else think Extras is reminiscent of Curb Your Enthusiasm? I can see where you might think that, but no, I haven't made that connection. I really want Andy to fire his absolutely stupid manager (who is his co-writer and co-director on EXTRAS). It's the manager who is screwing up so badly that I cringe, not Andy. If Andy doesn't grow some balls and ditch the the guy, I may not continue to watch. OK, that's a lie, I will always watch EXTRAS, but I will be angry with Andy's lack of spine. PS, Marc, I can watch the next week's show on "HBO On Demand." So I'm not only catching up, I'm getting ahead of the game. You don't have that option? I also catch it 'On Demand" (as well as Rome) and dont have that option. New Yorkers get all the good stuff. |
