Run, don't walk, to see this movie.

I saw it on opening day and it's still with me.

One thing I really liked in this movie was when one guy who thought he was badass ran into someone who really was. The whole movie was a lot about pecking order and social dynamics.

Oh, and how little snap decisions can morph into really, really big ones.

How was Justin Timberlake?

He did very well, surpisingly enough. He has some chops.

Saw it yesterday. Will see it again with Cindy on Sunday. Rich kids unclear on the legal concept let things get out of hand. Well-structured movie: Interviews, drama, case build-up (as witnesses are numbered). I followed this story in the LA Times since it first broke. I was a bit shocked to hear that Hollywood was making a movie about the case, but the movie was well made, though I did get a few chills at the ending, even though I knew what was coming because I had already read about it. No fighting off 'dem chills.

The story continues, btw. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the case, keep in mind as you watch the movie, this film is based on actual events.

AC

P.S. Justin Timberlake surprized me with his performance. It was also nice to see Bruce Willis and Harry Dean Stanton in some small but important roles.

P.P.S. Favorite line: (paraphrased) While watching a gansta' music video, the wannabe gangsta comments, "The only shooting them ganstas know is shooting a video." Later this tuff guy gets a taste of the real thing and ends up hiding to avoid it. (Yes, same character that Law Dawg is talking about.)

Haven't seen this yet, because its has not arrived at our post yet (we usually get them about a month after release in the states) and honestly I will probably wait for video. But I have read that Justin Timberlake stole the show in this movie and its worth seeing for his performance.

In FHM's movie reviews last month the writer, in reference to Justin's character's tatoos, made this funny ass comment:

"Alpha Dog's makeup artist had one of the hardest jobs in Hollywood-Making Justin Timberlake look tough." (May be slightly paraphrased)

It gave me a chuckle.

In my opinion the guy who stole the show was the brother of the kidnapped boy. He played a tweaked out meth addict with an intensity and barely (sometimes not even barely) concealed rage and energy that has to be seen to be believed.
