X-Files DVDs - Lisa - 07-03-2004

Has anyone found these anywhere used for relatively cheap? I only have the first season, and would love to own 2-7, but can't afford to pay $90 a season for them. Even the used copies are going for $60 and up. Those Asian bootlegs at $12 a pop on eBay are looking awful good right about now...

Sorry Lisa. Your ebay idea is the best thing I can think of off the top of my head...

I once had the first five seasons of The X-Files on DVD, but lost them in the separation agreement before my divorce....sigh... Sad

My pitiful dvd collection presently consists of:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Seasons I - VI

Angel: Seasons I - III

Futurama: Volumes I - III

Best of luck finding those X-Files gems!

Mike

I had videotaped the first 2-3 seasons at one point but then gave up and have since taped over them. Sorry. Do you want them because you haven't seen them or because you just want them for posterity. You could always rent them and then copy them. Oh wait, scratch that; that would be illegal.

Lisa,

I have from season one to season seven on LaserDisc. If you staying Japan, I could copy to video tape for you...

The best place to look is http://www.dvdpricesearch.com. It compares different sites and their prices. Looks like you'll be paying $60+ a pop for each season though.

Dude, Lisa is a super moderator, a co-queen. The same laws don't apply to her. I'm surprised she hasn't assembled the cast for her own personal re-creation.

Hey Lisa, I have been thinking of going that same route. The first six or seven years that show was on the air I was always out playing music and NEVER got to see it. I only saw the movie. I knew this was a show I would like if I was ever home to catch it. Anyway, recently it became part of my routine to watch X-Files at 1:00AM on the Sci-Fi Channel. But as of last week it seems that they have stopped showing the X-Files and have replaced it with Quntum Leap (which I like but have seen a lot of). I thought I would just buy the seasons on DVD... Not for $60 or more a pop though. Good luck. Let me know if you find anything cheaper than that. I will keep up my search and I will let you know the same. If you happen to buy one of the Asian bootlegs let me know how it looks. That may be the cheapest option.

Thanks guys. It makes me feel slightly better to know I'm not missing somewhere obvious to find cheap used DVDs. If I try the bootlegs I'll let you know how they look.

I just looked it up at cdnow.com. They have them new and used. the used ones go from 30 to 45 dollars a season.

Give it a try.

When I posted the reply, and tested the site, I got a web browser bug notification. I eliminated the http, and www part part so it wouldn't actually register. The rest of it is correct.

Hi Ken,

Thanks, but I've already been watching Amazon for about 2 weeks. Most of the cheaper ones (under $60) are "Asian imports" aka bootlegs. If I'm going to get the bootlegs, I can get them a lot cheaper on eBay. Thanks for the effort though. Smile
