I need more than that, though I'm a HUGE fan of "Die Hard" and enjoyed the sequels to a lesser degree. Live Free or.... - jimbow8 - 12-18-2006 AsMoral Wrote:...Click HereOoh! A bunch of stuff crashin' and 'splodin'! I'll have to get more info on this one. But I'll probably inevitably see it anyway. The original is still, imo, the best action movie.... EVER! The second one is good. When I saw the third, I liked it, but it doesn't stand up to repeated viewings. Maybe it would have made a better Lethal Weapon movie as was originally intended. It wasn't a great gig, though. People in the porn industry are utter slimeballs. Stupid when not utterly cynical, drug-addled, no class, no culture. Real dregs. Live Free or.... - webby - 12-18-2006 I'll most likely wait for this one on DVD, even though the 'splodin' things would look better on a big screen. The best plot summary I can find is this: "The story centers on an attack on the U.S.' computer infrastructure that begins to shut the country down. The mysterious figure behind the scheme has figured out every digital angle but never counts on an old-fashioned, "analog" McClane." There are so many ways this plot could go so very wrong. Yeah, I'll wait. Live Free or.... - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 12-18-2006 webby Wrote:I'll most likely wait for this one on DVD, even though the 'splodin' things would look better on a big screen. The best plot summary I can find is this: The ah-dear of an attack on our computers is frightening, isn't it? But a computer ignoramus like meself likes to comfort himself with the belief that our computer guys and gals are the best in the world...people come from strange, faraway lands to join us...and the bad guys had best fear =our= silicon wrath! I think when you have things happening in a movie that involves something you know a lot about . . . if it's not done very accurately it's very annoying. For example, in Independence Day . . . Ok, it was easy to accept the aliens, blah blah blah but when Jeff Goldblum uploads a virus to the mothership via his laptop and a "USB to UFO" cable . . . I mean come on. Well maybe it was a serial cable to UFO cable instead but still . . . I think this would be the equivalent of how Ken V. feels when he's watching a western and they're using a rifle from the wrong decade.
I'm guessing Webby's concerns are somewhere along those lines. Maybe not. |
