Spyderco Endura - tooleman - 11-24-2006 Hi all, I’d like to discuss fine edged weapons like the Spyderco Endura depicted in the later FPW’s RJ novels. I’m a big fan of this particular knife and want to find one that has been converted to automatic. There are a few other edged weapons that can be mentioned in the same class, Kershaw, Columbia River Knife Tools, Benchmade and believe it or not Surefire the flashlight people. It’s my opinion that Jack has picked the best knife on the market, I personally like other knives like CRKT but love my stainless steal Spyderco Endura. I’d like to hear what other knife aficionado’s have to say on the subject. No other company puts their knives through such rigorous tests. Have you seen any of their videos promoting their knives when they put them to the test? Totally amazing, to say the least. I don't have a problem with any of the other brands you've named, but they just don't compare to "Cold Steel". Everything else is just a knife. The Civilian is a beast. It can be seen in technicolor in the last Hannibal Lector movie. I am also partial to anything by Fred Perrin http://www.donrearic.com/perrin.html, the Hideaway knife http://www.hideawayknife.com/main.php and the KBar TDI https://www.kabar.com/product_detail.jsp?productNumber=1482&mode=category&categoryId=1,7,8,9&categoryName=Law%20Enforcement But that's just me. I have not seen the videos but am certainly interested. CS is a great knife and it did slip my mind in the original post however it's my opinion the others are as good, and in the case of my Endura, better. Let me know what you think of the video. I know mine is over 10 years old and I'm curious If they have changed much. I'm also a bit biased towards the "Vaquaros" myself. I just can never get a good enough edge on them. |
