TOS newly made by CG - Kenji - 09-17-2006 Oh, well.....at last, the time has come. I knew someday somebody make this. But I don't think this is good. TOS was made in '60s. At that time, TOS's SFX was excellent in any way. Of course, now it's cheap SFX than present. But that's why we still love that show. If film makers newly add CG, I'll feel something lost. How about you? What do you think about it? http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/25055.html TOS newly made by CG - Terry Willacker - 09-19-2006 I agree Kenji. Leave them alone. It's like colorizing Casablanca. TOS newly made by CG - jimbow8 - 09-19-2006 While I'm not a big fan of TOS, and I don't think the FX were that good, I DO NOT think they should go back and change them. What's the purpose? It represents the time that it was made. TOS newly made by CG - Weatherford - 09-21-2006 Actually, I think it's kind of a nice idea.... I like that they are cleaning up the visuals and music - and I will just have to find someone who can copy them for me to see if the "changes" work.... Of course, the acting and scripts seem so CAMP now - "fixing" anything may be distracting!! I think the idea is that broadcasting them in HD, which is increasingly common, brings out the flaws much more sharply than was previously possible. Having said that, I agree that I don't see much purpose in "fixing" them. They were made to be broadcast on '60s television and should be viewed in that light, IMO... even in HD. At least they're not changing anything too dramatically, though. From the footage I've seen so far, it's not particularly noticeable or distracting. It seems like more of a touch-up than a facelift.
