Spam Prevention - Marc - 09-15-2006 To cut down on the recent spam we've had on the forum I'd like to recommend the moderators add a security "code" to become a registered member. I've seen it on other forums where you have to enter a legitimate e-mail address to become a member or, in the very least, enter a 4-8 digit code that they give you to make sure you're not a bot. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? Spam Prevention - Tony H - 09-15-2006 Marc B. You have to have a valid email address to gain access to this board. I think you have to click on a link emailed to you to gain access to post on the board. I could be wrong...it has been SOOOO long since I registered a board name. Spam Prevention - webby - 09-15-2006 AsMoral Wrote:You have to have a valid email address to gain access to this board. That's how it worked for me - about 4 1/2 months ago. Spam Prevention - Marc - 09-15-2006 I don't remember that way back when this forum went active. Okay then. Nevermind. Spam Prevention - acfrogg - 09-15-2006 Since I am a newbie, I can vouch that yes, you do need to activate your account through email when you get it. |
