The Lady? - jaybird - 02-03-2006 I am currently rereading Conspiracies. Sal makes referance to his little monkey friend that they had taken care of The lady problem. But then again, that was the twins. What part are you reading? Ken The Lady? - BrettM - 02-06-2006 KRW Wrote:I think they were talking about Olive, The religious fanatic. No, I believe this was the first subtle reference to the women-with-dogs, who are apparently all manifestations of "The Lady". I didn't pick up on that until re-reading Conspiracies after we actually started meeting her/them in the following novels. The Lady? - jaybird - 02-06-2006 At first I thought they were talking about Olive but, Youre right, It was the twins who killed her. I guess it's possiable they were talking about the "dog Ladies". The point in question is when Sal and the monkey are first talking about noticing Jack not being "normal". I'm not sure what page it is but, I know that it's in the first third of the book. I didn't notice this my first two times reading it through but, I caught it this time. I wonder if FPW would know what I'm talking about? Other than the "dog Ladies", I can't think of who they would be takling about. The only problem is I don't remember any of the "Ladies" having any problems getting to Jack. Once again I could be wrong. The Lady? - jaybird - 02-13-2006 I finally finished re-reading Conspiracies. At the end Sal and the monkey mention The Lady again. This is really driving me nuts. Who are they talking about? I'm confident that it's not Olive. Is it Melanie? She is the only other woman "involved" that would have any bearing on the events that unfold. Maybe someone we don't know about yet? After all--Paul is a sly and crafty hombre. The Lady? - jaybird - 02-14-2006 You are right sir. I am begining to wonder if those comments were made and FPW had ment to follow up on it but forgot. Even the best authors have brain farts now and then. We still don't know everything about them, but they are all interelated in an unusual way. Collectively, they are one entity. The Lady. In Harbingers the lady will appear as a man in drag... 'I'm a lay-dy!' (probably a joke for the Brits only). Dave |
