Good Night and Good Luck - Maggers - 01-02-2006

With "Good Night and Good Luck," George Clooney proves that he is not just another pretty face. His direction is neat, taut and on target. He co-wrote and also stars in the film. He has become a true triple threat.

And he does have a pretty face, which makes it all the more pleasant. Big Grin

David Strathairn is superlative; I've been a big fan of his for years. Ray Wise has a small but important role, and while he's not on screen often, he conveys a world of hurt with just a half smile.

The movie is a joy to listen to. The screenplay is rich, eloquent, fluid. People don't speak like that anymore and it's a shame.

Really good movie.

Good Night and Good Luck - Kenji - 05-03-2006

Today I saw Good Night and Good Luck. It was really good film!

George Clooney did good work. His first directed film, "Confession" was pretty good, so I believed success of "Good Night and Good Luck". One of the reasons of success is it was made by black/white film. If it was color film, everything look like fictional story. Also David Strathairn was good. His acting was realistic and persuasive. Other actors and actress did good support to Clooney and Strathairn.

McCarthism, Comminism, Witchhunt...In Japan, we called it "Akagari". (Aka is red).....I still can't believe it happened in America and Japan. Moreover, it was started by one senator! After I saw this movie, I'm sure I can say Edward Murrow was real American hero at that era. Other journalists shut their mouth, but he was only one journalist who resisted McCarthism.

After Maggers posted about this movie, nobody replied. Nobody's seen this movie? Well, maybe this is a movie that select persons who see. I hope everybody see this movie.

Till then, good night, and good luck. Wink

I have had this movie at home for about a week now (from Netflix, along with Mr Smith Goes to Washington, which I've had longer). I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Hopefully I'll have some time soon.

Tonight is LOST, though, so not tonight. Big Grin
