Cinderella Man - Kenji - 09-17-2005

What a wonderful movie! You know what? It's "Cinderella Man". After I saw "Fantastic Four", I watched Cinderella Man in next door theater.

"Ron Howard + Russell Crowe = Beautiful Mind" was very good movie. And now, this "Cinderella Man" was EXCELLENT!!! Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger, Paul Giamatti, they were perfect casting.

In the depression years, one boxer fought for family. But his fight was not only for family. His fight was for people's hope too. I was impressed to this story. It was very touching. In the last fight, Jim Braddock vs Max Bear, I was really excited. I felt power to my left arm. "Rocky", "Champ", "Raging Bull", "Million Dollar Baby", and I add to them my favorite Boxing movie, "Cinderella Man".

By the way, what is "Irish luck"? In this movie, Paul Giamatti said it.

Cinderella Man was terrific!!! It really hit home as to how hard "the depression" really was. I had two great grandfathers commit suicide during the depression. I never really realized how tough it could have been on someone trying to provide for a family at that time though. This movie made a little of it hit home.

There is a popular saying about "The Luck of The Irish." He was referring to that.

Ah! "The Luck of The Irish"! Okay...and, what is "The Luck of The Irish"? I've never heard about it before. :o

I'm not really sure where the saying came from. Given the potato famine of the mid-1800s and the way the Irish were under the thumb of the British for so long, it may be a misnomer. Still, almost everyone seems to love the Irish. My wife's part Irish, so I guess that includes me.
