Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - Kenji - 07-22-2005 It happened in 1956, 1978, 1993. You know what? It was alien's invasion.....in the movies. "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" by Don Siegel, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" by Philip Kaufman, and "Body Snatchers" by Abel Ferrara. I saw already '56 version and '78 version a long time ago. They were classical but really great. Some of scenes were very chilly and I was stunned. Especially, in '56 version, one guy shouted "They're here already! You're next! You're next, You're next!". When I saw first this movie, maybe I was 10 or 12. That was really scary! But I prefer '78 version. Japanese title was "SF Body Snatcher". Actors were Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum, and Leonard Nimoy. Now I know them, but at that time, I knew only Leonard Nimoy as Spock. It was scary as much as '56 version. Especially, at the ending scene, Donald Sutherland's scream was scary. Because of his face! All right, you know why I mentioned about "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"? Of course not.(sorry!) Well, today I rented Body Snatchers' DVD. It's 1993 version. From previous movie, it was made 15 years later. Director is Abel Ferrara. I like his another movie,"The Funeral". Actresses are Gabrielle Anwar and Meg Tilly. Movie it-self was not scary. Same plot, same story, same aliens....Yeah, this is B-movie. But I really enjoyed it. Gabrielle Anwar's character was weak, but Meg Tilly's one line was scary. "Where you gonna go, where you gonna run, where you gonna hide? Nowhere... 'cause there's no one like you left". Do you like those movies? Have you ever seen them or one of them? Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - remylass - 07-22-2005 I think Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a classic. I didn't really like the one in 1993. I worked at a movie theater when it came out. I was the Projectionist, so I got to stay late on Thursday nights, put the films together, and view them before they went public the next day. It didn't scare me at all. I really like the old black and white one. Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - jimbow8 - 07-22-2005 I think the '56 version is great. I didn't care much for the '78 version or the '93 version (except for Gabrielle Anwar - SCHWING!!!). Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - Maggers - 07-22-2005 Kevin McCarthy was terrific in the '56 version. It's a classic that's as creepy and scary as they come. Where do you run? Where do you hide? They're here already!! Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - Biggles - 07-22-2005 Maggers Wrote:Kevin McCarthy was terrific in the '56 version. Same things going through your mind in that series (a great one). Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - DaveStrorm - 07-22-2005 I saw the '78 version first and overall I think I like it the best. However, I like the optimistic ending of the '56 version better. I have the DVD of both those. Didn't really care for the last remake in '93. Several years ago I read the book by Jack Finney. As usual for me, the book won out over the movies. Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - neotank - 07-22-2005 I like all of them The original is prolly my favorite though. I watched it with my dad when I was a little kid and by the time it was over i was looking at him rather strangely.... Invasion of The Body Snatchers movies - jimbow8 - 07-22-2005 I think the ending of the '56 version was the best by far and makes it better than the other versions. ***SPOILER ALERT*** The trucks pulling into town with all the pods stacked up on the backs. |
