the typo gremlin strikes again! - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 05-16-2004

In the paperback version of THE HAUNTED AIR, Paul writes, "And thanks to Blake Dollens, typo master, for his help with this edition." And righteously so. Blake did a fine job. But the typo gremlin, like the Devil, will not be mocked. I imagine it was perched on Paul's shoulder as he wrote those words and thought, "Oh, really...we'll just see about that!" It couldn't subvert Blake's clean copy, so it took a subtler tack. On the "Also by F. Paul Wilson" page, the Adversary Cycle has become the Adversary Circle. And owners of the hardcover will rejoice in the thought they possess
an artifact from the future, as the copyright page assures us that the First Edition was published in September 2004! And that gets us into time-paradox difficulties you really have to be in harmony with the Cosmic Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk to fathom.

You are correct. It says Circle in my copy as well.

I wasn't going to bring it up but since the thread has already been started... Smile

There's also a misplaced apostrophe (The infamous your/you're) on page 194. Really caught me off guard. Smile I don't want to quote the line because its a minor spoiler, but it concerns Gia imagining how she's going to tell Jack something.

Good eye, Gord! There's also a misplaced comma on p. 74, Abe's rap to Jack about the dumbing-down of American culture. (...in science, classes). But that's penny-ante. Blake did a fine job of cleaning up the hardcover text, which made this old proofreader cry.
