Question for the Gunnies: Backup - law dawg - 07-18-2004

Jimbo: I don't own any weapons, but I think I would enjoy going to a shooting range

Me: We disagree politically and philisophically but anytime you want we'll go destroy some targets and make lots of holes. I'd be honored.

fpw Wrote:I've started writing the next Jack (working title: INFERNAL) and came into a situation (not in the outline) where Jack has to ditch his AMT .380 backup.

Any suggestions for a replacement? (Remember, it's got to fit in an ankle holster.)
I like the "Micro Desert Eagle" which i bought cus i couldn't afford the Simmerling LM4. It is not as small as the LM4 but nearly and is VERY accurate for a 'Close Range' backup gun.

Keep up the good work i LOVE Jack!

It's unusual for this to happen, but FPW asked that question in early April . . . five years ago.

And as far as guns are concerned, it's mostly a matter of personal preference.

Not suggesting this as a backup weapon, but my home defense weapon is a 9mm tokarev. It's a little jewel; really fun to shoot and practically indestructible.

Tokarevs pop up from time to time in the RJ stories, they're fairly common, and relatively inexpensive. I suspect FPW has a passing familiarity with them himself, and is writing what he knows.
