Who'd play Jack? - man bites snake - 10-18-2005

I would really like Edward Norton for the role. Did anyone see American History X? Ed Norton was buff, but not conspicuously so. He would have been a good choice. The big hang-up I have over the actor is the age factor. An everyman like Bruce Willis was in the beginning.

Scroll back to page 2 on this thread. "American History X" was discussed, albeit briefly, and Norton was given a nod for the role.

BTW, welcome to the board.

I thought I read everything, missed it though. Thanks for the good eye, I will be sure to read carefully next time. As for the actor for RJ, I still don't feel right with any of the names mentioned here. They are good mind you, but just not right (to me). I am just a fan who remembers seeing The Keep in a theater and thinking what the hell happened. Often times, a transfer from literature to film doesnt work, although Keep had some striking visuals. The actor for RJ has to have cloak of bland over tightly wound rage. A young DeNiro would have been able to do it.

If you have time and can find them (you can do a search), there are a lots of threads on the movie "The Keep." I think you'd enjoy them. Wink

Like many, I'm new here.
But if anyone saw PRIMER, what about Shane Carruth playing Jack?

I think by the time RJ gets filmed, Topher Grace or Ashton Kutcher will be old enough to play Jack, and one of the Olsen twins (or both) could play Gia. Sad How about an "unknown" young actor like our own Marc Buhmann? If Marc can direct (and I have it on good authority that he can), then he sure as heck should be able to act?

Stacy and I got info from a VERY reliable source in Madison that we will (probably?) NOT like the actor.

Oh Jim, that's awful! I can imagine who your source is (*wink*) and he knows how we think here. So if he thinks we WON'T like the actor for Jack, then we won't. Phooey!

All we can do then is hope that the guy surprises us. I'm still going to watch the movie no matter who plays Jack. You never know. But if he screws it all up...well, he may find some used tires raining down upon his house. We know someone who can fly a large cargo plane (a chopper just won't hold enough tires). Wink

Maybe he can bring Demi with him.
