Recruits!!! - L Paul Wynn - 10-25-2011 I have always felt that politics like bull fighting is a spectator blood sport that gets messing on the cleanup. If you have any doubt about who to vote for you can usually not go wrong if you throw the bum out. Recruits!!! - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 10-25-2011 Agreed, but not always. Ronald Reagan was an exception. I don't care to imagine the world after a second Jimmy Carter administration. Recruits!!! - L Paul Wynn - 10-25-2011 I thought we were in the second Carter Administration Recruits!!! - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 10-25-2011 Haw! At least in 1980, we had Reagan waiting in the wings, to rescue the grim situation. Today...? Recruits!!! - L Paul Wynn - 10-25-2011 Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:Haw! Today ? After watching the Republican debates made me want to throw up! I am getting too depressed on this line of thought. Recruits!!! - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 10-25-2011 Be of strong heart! Recruits!!! - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 10-25-2011 Well, look at the aftermath of the Battle of Long Island, 8/27/1777, when a fog descended and allowed the Tall General to keep the Continental Army together to fight another day. Or the forever astonishing Battle of Midway. Don't remember who said it, but, "If voting made a difference, it would be illegal." ![]() Recruits!!! - DannyC - 12-20-2011 I have 4 FPW completist recruits, 3 are friends, the fourth is a student. I teach three sections of high school Creative Writing in New Jersey, and keep a library of groovy authors in my classroom; on the front wall stands the Hall of Greats where Harbingers resides. (It's my only FPW spare that hasn't been stolen.) One student drank down it down in a couple of days. He salavated for more, so I've been feeding him the RJ series in order. Tonight I put Hosts in my bag for him. Another student in the same class - a great non-reader - is crawling through Harbingers right now. The Repairman Jack side-chats in class have created a waiting list. I'm thrilled. |
