Best RJ Moment - Peter - 06-13-2005

Not exactly a scene as such but in All the Rage where Jack is looking for the drugged guy who nearly killed Vicky and he thinks "Bad move Porky". Sort of chilling because you know a) what his capabilities are and b) what his mood is.

Yes! That was a great moment for sure. Visions of viscera danced in my head.

I loved the whole "ho ho ho, you can't F*&% with Santa!" bit- it was just so apropos. The Santa scene is a classic. If there moves ever get made, that scene will live forever in the hallowed halls of celluloid.
Second to that I really loved Jack and his dad out there in the swamp, loaded for bear, working together. (Gateways) Now we know where he gets it from.
Third, the helicopter stunts in All The Rage....I know a few people I'd love to do that to.

And my favorite line about Jack's state of mind- "He wasn't just nuts, he was bugf*&% nuts".

Welcome back, BK Akitas. How's your Jack? When last time I saw his picture, he was puppy. Smile

Yeah, I like the helicopter stunts, too. That's cracked me up. Big Grin

My Jack, much like his namesake, decided to shun the spotlight for life of minimal notice but much meaning. He is living in a great home in Antioch CA, loved by all who know him, a fierce protector of his family, and the official guardian of his street (they live on a cul de sac- if Jack lets out a warning bark, everyone knows there is someone there who does not belong).

In true Jack fashion, he has already had a real RJ moment. He is a black and red brindle, and even though he has white markings he blends into the landscaping like natural camoflauge. Some wiseass kids had been breaking into garages and sheds in the neighborhood, and his family left their back gate unlocked- what did they have to worry about after all? They have an akita! Enter two rotten kids, who walked right past him in the shadows of the plants, jimmied the garage door open and were on their way out with power tools. Enter Jack, who very calmly stepped out right in front of them, blocking the gate. He let out a few deep barks to let them know their weekend was screwed, then stood there growling at them, pinned against the fence. The family of course called the police, and wouldn't ya know it, the second the boys in blue walked into the yard, our boy Jack melted back into the shadows.

Coincidence? I think not Smile

sll Wrote:OK, first off I feel like a senior member of the board (thanks mostly to "Haiku anyone?") in label only. As I read through many of the threads I feel "I'm not worthy". Now don't get me wrong, I've read the whole Adversary chronical and every RJ book, but to paraphrase Maggers "I have a brain like Teflon, nothing sticks".
That said, I thought I'd start a thread (though it may have been done in the past) about your favorite Repairman Jack moment. Now I may need some help here to place the book (Legacies, Conspiracies?) and the details of the moment, but the one incident that is my favorite is when Jack was about to confront some guys he knew he couldn't beat. So he had in his hand I believe a little bottle with some kind of caustic liquid with red dye and maybe an orb... anyway he squired the liquid in the eye of one of the guys as he made it look like he pulled the guy's eye out. Needless to say the other guys there did want anything to do with Jack. Just a great moment.

My favorite RJ moment, by far, was from "A Day in the Life" (In Barrens and Others). The entire Jack O' Lantern bit was the best program I've ever heard of. Not only was it Cool as hell, but it was pretty funny too. I think it was an Irish name.
I really love the complex fix-its too. I really liked the one where he collected for the immigrant with the Janitorial Service. That one was very creative and intelligent.

And I was lucky to pick up on KRW's avatar, seeing as I live in tornado alley...Smile

I really like the subway scene too. I think the thing that makes it so important to me was RJ's complete disghust with the "sheep" on the train who would just lie down and die instead of fight for their lives.

I like when Jack drank the coffee in All the Rage and got all drugged up. He almost killed some lady out of road rage, then he started mouthing off to Gia, saying she 'coddles Vicky to much' That was funny.

RIRST POST - Be gentle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For entertainment gotta be Santa

But my all time favourite is when Jack recalls how he avenged his mothers death, dropping her killer over the bridge. I love the way the punishment fits the wrong he did Jack - a real insight into an event that shaped who Jack is.

Cheers
