The New Last Thread - LolaRennt - 04-12-2013 There are some users who need to have their computers removed. I've suggested that one group in California lose their computer privileges. They can record their transactions on paper and we can get data entry people to enter the transactions. That actually would cut down on some issues. Well, maybe - there are some data entry people who can't even manage that. I know - one of them works in my group unfortunately. The New Last Thread - Tony H - 04-12-2013 What frustrates me the most is that I am not actually on the helpdesk. I am a project manager, I implement electronic medical records at behavioral health agencies across the United States. I should not even be troubleshooting these issues. The problem is with something on the end users computer. But since the crash is causing the wb browser to collapse and our software runs on a web browser, then they automatically think it is something with our program. The person I am dealing with is the IT Director at an agency. He is the IT director and won't even do any troubleshooting on his own. Instead I get angry emails from a technically incompetent end-user who I am a verb away from telling to STFU. Doctor's may be very intelligent when it comes to medicine, but damn...my experience is that they lack people and computer skills. Present company excluded, right? :p The New Last Thread - LolaRennt - 04-12-2013 The IT director is also a doctor?? I sometimes have to argue with my company's service desk. The help desks are divided up. My group handles only PeopleSoft Financial issues. If a user cannot access PeopleSoft Financials because the user's computer is broken, that is not my group's issue. That is the IT help desk issue. We are not IT. Yet frequently the IT help desk will assign issues to my group that have more to do with someone's computer or someone's internet connection than PeopleSoft. To be completely fair, there are times when that is caused by the person reporting the issue. Some people simply do not know how to report a problem well. The New Last Thread - cobalt - 04-15-2013 It's Spring break! And....I'm real happy not to have class or internship today. I love kids...but this semester in Pedi trauma is kickin' my butt! The New Last Thread - Sigokat - 04-15-2013 What is "break"? The New Last Thread - Tony H - 04-15-2013 Sigokat Wrote:What is "break"? Don't hate because you decided to get out and don't get 4-day weekends every month anymore. The New Last Thread - Fenian1916 - 04-15-2013 Break is the type of dance Toni does on the weekends to make money to feed his addiction to greyhound racing The New Last Thread - Sigokat - 04-15-2013 I thought he raced turtles. |
