I came down with a wretched case of the flu while watching GREMLINS in the theater. I was feeling fine beforehand, but as the movie progressed, the muscles beneath my skin began to ache, my hands started shaking, and I wanted to spew the contents of my stomach all over the seats in front of me. I didn't, but I did get to an ER and found I had a temp of 104 degrees! Seeking Info on Excellent Ghost Movies - Sam - 01-29-2005 Flinx Wrote:The Frighteners Loved this movie! Jeffrey Combs was great. "You are invading my territorial bubble!!" Seeking Info on Excellent Ghost Movies - Sam - 01-29-2005 KRW Wrote:I've always liked: Count me in on The Entity. Not to worry, that scene with the gremlin in the microwave made everyone sick! KRW-- not meaning to downplay your sickness at the time. I bought it and House 2, but it seems I'm the only person on this earth that liked it! Oh well, no accounting for my taste! The Entity would'nt have had half the impact on me as it did if it was't based upon a real story! KRW Seeking Info on Excellent Ghost Movies - Mick C. - 01-29-2005 I'm surprised no one has mention THE INNOCENTS - the Deborah Kerr version with the script by Truman Capote. The creepy sexual suggestions, and the scene where she sees the ghost in broad daylight, staring at her from across the pond. She looks down, and when she looks up, you expect to see the ghost has vanished.. but she's still there, staring coldly at Kerr. Brrrrr.... Some pretty good ones that weren't quite classics but are worth seeing: GHOST STORY (based on the Peter Straub's very good novel) and THE HAUNTING OF HELL HOUSE (based on Richard Matheson's utter;y terrifying novel "Hell House".) All time best, though, is the original of THE HAUNTING. Seeking Info on Excellent Ghost Movies - Mick C. - 01-29-2005 Yikes..I googled an image from THE INNOCENTS, and found this terrifying image from Gustave Dore's illustrations from the Bible (titled "The Massacre of the Innocents"): Not really relevant to the topic, but count on Dore as one of the most frightening artists of all time: Seeking Info on Excellent Ghost Movies - KRW - 01-29-2005 Mick C. What an illustration! And Ken, where do you see R******? Is he the guy in the background holding his sword on high, pointing to the sky? Sorta looks like a satyr? Duh...I just re-read your post. You say exactly who it is! Geez.... |
