How's THIS for "Repairman Jack"? - Silad - 03-12-2009 I think Dominic West from The Wire would make a great Jack. He's a great actor and seems to have a very versatile face if there is such a thing!! He is going to be a big star so you have to get him whilst he's cheap!!! I loved him as Kirk Cuddy, lead guitarist for Steel Dragon in Rockstar. I gave up on television years ago, so I've never caught The Wire. -Wapitikev How's THIS for "Repairman Jack"? - Silad - 03-13-2009 Hi Wapitikev, Thanks for the warm welcome. I haven't seen Rockstar. I will keep my eye open for it. You should really watch The Wire though. It is the best thing on telly. Lots of programs loose there way, ie 24, Heroes. But The Wire has such strong characters and fantastic actors and great storylines you will become hooked. Pity they don't make it any more!! How's THIS for "Repairman Jack"? - lexator222 - 03-15-2009 I don't know, but I think that Ryan Reynolds, and this gentleman from "The Wire" are TOO good looking for Jack! They would really stand out in a crowd, which is just the reverse of what Jack wants. Remember the situation with the subway shooting? Nobody could give an exact description of Jack. To one person, he looked this way, and to another, he looked THAT way! I really don't know of anyone in the films that could play Jack without looking like a movie star, because they ARE movie stars! That's why I wanted to see if you all would think that my old photo would show someone who was plain, but also manly, without looking like a movie star, or somebody who would stand out in a crowd. Today, my problem is worse, since everyone thinks that I look like Terry Bradshaw, or Robert Duval, or someone like that! I've even been compared to Tommy Smothers! (Yikes) Not something to have if you want to keep off of the imperial radar!!! You're not alone in saying that, law dawg. I've never seen it, so I can't judge. But better than THE TWILIGHT ZONE? Mercy! And yeah, I know that it's a bold statement. It has spoiled me for other TV shows, although to call the cable shows TV doesn't seem to do them justice. Is there a term out for programs like The Wire, Six Feet Under...? I checked out Burn Notice not long after I finished The Wire and while it wasn't bad, in fact probably better than most TV, I simply couldn't get into it at all. It seemed like I would be watching variations of the pilot for the rest of the season whereas in The Wire, every single episode was unique and mattered. So I'm seconding Law Dawg's proclamation. And welcome aboard Silad. And as much as I loved West as McNulty, I can't see him as RJ. How's THIS for "Repairman Jack"? - lexator222 - 03-19-2009 While all you guys are saying who WOULDN'T be good as "Repairman Jack", perhaps you can suggest who WOULD be, possibly a total unknown? It's happened before. By the way, does anyone know if Ryan Reynolds has actually SIGNED a contract to do the movie? And what stage is the movie at, anyway? Last thing we would want to see is another court battle, like the 5 year war over "Watchmen"! What a disaster that was! Lexx |
