It was funny...my entire training troop Echo 5 15 went to Fort Polk save for 3 people...all from Maryland. Me and 2 other Baltimore boys got shipped off to Fort Riley. We complained a lot until we got letters from our buddies in Fort Polk...then we weren't too upset.
I liked Fort Riley to be honest...there just wasn't anything to do. I liked that it was just outside of the historic Junction City and it wasn't too far from Manhattan, KS The Little Apple. It was in Manhattan that I had sex with the only woman I had ever had sex with. Ahh...memories.

Yeah, I hear Riley is getting nicer. They are renovating alot of the barracks and on-post housing. I wouldn't mind being stationed there (better the FT Polk...got a buddy there now) but Riley deploys alot...and I mean ALOT! They recently moved most of 1AD back there from Germany, so now 1AD and 1ID are there.

So are they home of the Big Red One again? When I was getting out they just moved the 1AD and 1ID to Germany and our 4th BN/37th AR became 2/70. That was a sad day...we had to change our patches.
