X-Men III?
A horrible blight forced upon mankind in general, and me in particular. After loving the comic books, and loving the first two movies, I had absolutely no choice about going. I wish I didn't. That 'movie' stole a good portion of my soul, and now, years later, I find myself weeping in the shower, and occasionally kicking kids.

I fan-boy overloaded my wife for at least a week after X2 came out explaining to her how absolutely freaking cool it was going to be to see the Pheonix/Dark Phoenix Saga played out over the next film or two.
Jean dies in the water...she'll be reborn as the Phoenix force in X3 an we will be able to see her descent into Eeeevil! YES!
Then I sat down and watched X3 and my mouth hung open in shock. For over 2 hours.
One of the greatest storylines to ever be written in comics, let alone any other medium, reduced to less than nothing, right before my eyes!
...but I'm not bitter. That's the main thing.

That's right, Wap. We must keep things in perspective. And I would give two toes to see a well-done adaptation of THE AVENGERS/COUNT NEFARIA saga. Spot me a cameo, and I'll give three.

I started collecting comics in the late 70s and John Byrne was my favourite artist, so yes, I know that arc.
In fact I applied to the Alberta College of Art (JB's art school, although he dropped out, if memory serves) back in the 80s and was accepted into Visual Communications (the toughest program...it's grads worked for Pixar etc. in the 80s and 90s)...but instead I sold out, got engaged and got my honours Degree in Public Administration.
Ah, those golden years.

I am looking forward to the Iron Man movie, but then, I'm strange.
I've always wanted my heroes to be at least moderately human, and not freaks of nature.
Ergo, Iron Man, Batman, Green Arrow and Hawkeye (ooooohhh...mixing the Marvel & DC galaxies...I may BURN for that) are among my favorites.
And, if the trailers are any indicator, Robert Downey Jr has the Tony Stark character pegged perfectly. Not too sure about Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, though...I would think Julia Stiles would do it better.
But, then again, I'm evil...if Julia Stiles wanted to have children with me, I'd bear the babies.
