I took it that both Jack and the MIB's body were washed out by the stream, through an opening about which we don't know, weren't shown. Do we need to be shown everything? I like it better if we aren't.

Quoted from the abc.com episode summary of "The End."
In the cavern, Jack feels a drop of water hit his forehead. He looks up. A trickle of water feeds into the cavern. And then more water and more. The pool begins to fill -- and the reddish glow becomes increasingly whiter. Jack smiles because the light is back on! As the light in the cavern gets brighter and brighter, the electromagnetic forces begin to buffet Jack. He is consumed by the water and light -- washed out by its sheer brilliance....

"WHOOOSH to the island as Jack's body is washed out of the cavern by the stream. He's still alive but bleeding badly. He staggers to the bamboo forest and lies down. He hears something and turns to see Vincent run over to him, just as he did the very first day Oceanic 815 crashed on the island. Jack stares up through the swaying bamboo and hears something else. Distant. Up in the sky. And then he sees the Ajira plane climb higher and higher. Jack watches as it flies away."

In Jimmy Kimmel's "Aloha to LOST," Jimmy asked what happened to Michael? Harold Perrineau, the actor who played Michael, answered, "well, he's stuck on that Island, doomed to whisper 'ssshh ssshh sssh' for all eternity." I thought that was kind of hilarious.

So what do you suppose Hurley would do with the Whisperers, whom he can see? On Hurley's Island, would they be doomed to do nothing but whisper, as the dead seemed to be on Jacob's Island? I suspect Hurley would be far more humane and may even try to help them to let go and move on, as seemed to be one of the major themes of the finale.

I'd rather Michael to not be able to move on. He should be stuck on that Island forever, due to doing so much to get off. A fitting end for him i say.

Also as far as a lot of the questions go, I am definitelyl curious about a lot, but most of them I don't care to not have answers to.

Only major question i feel cheated out of being answered is the Widmore/Eloise stuff. I really feal they spent so much on making those characters mysterious and all knowing, to come to the final season and make one not really be a part of it(Eloise) and the other to have a dumb reason for coming to the island, which he was already after the island before that, and then given a dumb, quick, pointless death.

I am fine not knowing alot about the Island and a lot about Jacob/MIB/mother as they are sort of the powers that be. I think they need a lot of mystery to be what they are to us. But for so long Widmore was this guy that wanted the island, and wanted to kill everyone on it, and we have no reason why. I feel it's my only real knock on the final season.

The stained glass window in the room where Jack and Christian have their last conversation contained symbolism from several religions. I kept wondering (before Jack figured it out) what kind of church are they in that would have all those symbols?
Yes, that was beautiful. When Jack first entered the church, there was a room with all sorts of statues that also symbolized the faiths depicted in the stained glass. I remarked on the universality of that to Liam. It was all so lovely....SIGH....

Namaste.

LOL, Webby. So true. I am perfectly happy with the ending, though it does spark questions for me about the future of the Island, well, the future as I would ordinarily think of "future." But questions, you know, like what would Hurley do? Ha! What does THAT sound like.

Ya beat me to it. I didn't think anyone would understand the 24 reference as everyone's in LOVE heaven right now. 24 this season got back to basics: intrigue, espionage, torture and great character development. Self contained season but enough hanging threads for the next season to pick up. When Jack realized Chloe's friendship meant so much to him, I lost it. Real emotion time. Didn't need pliers to yank out my tears.

Jack on the run. That's an ending.

AC

P.S. Now back to the LOVE fest. There's only one answer to the questions of the island. It's love. Pure love. :dancing:
