A couple of things I really loved about The End...
The stained glass window in the room where Jack and Christian have their last conversation contained symbolism from several religions. I kept wondering (before Jack figured it out) what kind of church are they in that would have all those symbols?
Knowing what the church really was made that window a beautiful touch, I thought. It seemed to me the writers were saying it doesn't matter what religion you follow (if any) because they all come down to the same thing - be good to each other.

And the symbols in it are:
Islam - Star and crescent
Judaism - Star of David
Hinduism - Omkar (Aum)
Christianity - Christian cross
Buddhism - Wheel of Dharma
Taoism - Yin and yang
Moving away from the spiritual for a moment, the other thing I really liked was that final fight scene between Jack and Locke on the island. It was visiually stunning and so right for the epic battle taking place.

We all need to "let go" of the answers we didn't get and accept The End for what it was. If we can't do that, we didn't learn a thing from these characters we grew to care so much about.

I believe Hurley was referring to Star Trek with the Number Two comment. He was always alluding to Star Trek and Star Wars. That's so Yoda, dude.
Spoiler for the final Repairman Jack book: All the former characters, good and bad, including Rasalom, get together at the House of Blues in what's left of New York and party to Paul and the Bram Stoker Awards gang singing old Yardbirds tunes. Live with it. That's the ending. No answers and no segues to Nightworld. Sorry, but an emotional ending was needed in lieu of a practical rational symetrical conclusion.

P.S. I watched the ending again this morning. Cried only twice: for Sawyer and Juliet; once, when I knew what was coming, and secondly, when it happened. S & J over S and J. Hey, their initials match. That raises another question!!

When you get a lemon, make lemonade.
Now you have to buy the dvd set to get some answers.
Last theory: The names of The Three Stooges are Jerome or Jacob (also known as Jack/Curly), Samuel (called Shemp by his mother), and Moses (remamed himself Moe, but called John by his brothers). Got it. Jacob, John/Jack, and Samuel. LOST was a metaphor for The Three Stooges. Cue Three Stooges ending music. Ha! Made you look.

Loved the part where Flocke was staring out at the boat and it was like the shot above. Overall a great scene.

You know what I would change of the ending, if I could?
When Locke has Jack pinned down and under the knife- have Ben shoot Locke. So Ben would've killed both Jacob and MiB. Plus, how did Ben get out from under that tree?
Since it's over I'm going to start making up plausible answers. One of those earthquakes dislodged the tree. The outrigger question that's been bugging me? Juliet shot one of Widmore's people. How did Jack get out of the cave with the Light? He became another smoke monster, flew out, died and then haunted the island as a good smoke monster until Hurley and Ben released him. The Ajira 6 were all arrested at US Customs for suspected hijacking, not having any passports claiming to be missing or dead people. Or claiming to be over 200 years old.
I liked the ending though. I didn't feel any waterworks. The Dr. Linus episode had hit me much harder than this one.

I was curious how both MIB's body and Jack got out. It looked like Jack was almost in the same position as MIB's body. I have no idea how either of them got out.
