I remember when you were just a young chick scampering among us mother hens... or father roosters... never mind, that analogy sucks. Anyway, my GG is correct, you're not a newbie anymore. GU is like "family". "When you're a [GUer] you're a [GUer] all the way, from your first [Guinness Stout] to your last dying day". The RJ Forum - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 03-13-2004 I'm sure the new board will be a gas, gas, gas when I get used to it, but somehow I miss the rustic simplicity of the old board. I agree. Hunting for topics, replies, and threads is taking quadruple the time it took on the old board. Of course, I'm not helped by the fact that I'm a complete idiot. You all can go ahead and write disparaging replies to that, because I'll never be able to find this thread again... Joe  The RJ Forum - Ken Valentine - 03-14-2004 Joe Konrath Wrote:I agree. The new board has a lot of cute bells and whistles, but when it comes to convenience, it's nothing compared to the old board. I know those who designed it put in a lot of skull sweat, and I appreciate that, but BOY, does it take a lot of time to get anywhere. Ken V. The RJ Forum - jimbow8 - 03-14-2004 Like I posted elsewhere, When you first sign on (or at any time), click on "new posts" and you will see all the new posts since you were last on. This is the easiest way to check for posts you haven't read yet. The RJ Forum - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 03-15-2004 "...At least not until I get back to Maui," eh? Oh, you are droll, Biggles, droll. The RJ Forum - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 03-15-2004 Well, it's starting to make a little more sense, but I'm sure I'll be old and grey before I understand it's excellence. (I'm old and grey now, of course.) By the way, I'm surprised that Paul ranks as a Super Moderator. I'd have expected him to be a Galactic Being at the least. The RJ Forum - Marc - 03-15-2004 It keeps him humble being ranked Super Moderator like the Queens. Wait a minute... no... no, it couldn't be... Anything you'd care to share ladies? Paul =is= humble, as are all quality folk. I saw this at 12/3/03 B&N event, where he remarked, "I've got 30 books out. I don't know 30 books worth of stuff. I make things up." But that shouldn't disqualify him from glorying in the title of "Minister of the New, New Super-Heavy Horror." Should it? To quote myself from many years ago as a wee lad (and Lisa should/will get a kick out of this), "Wow... what a great guy." Paul is humble and probably one of the nicest people out there as far as celebrities (or someone that has a fan base) goes. How many authors would join a bunch of strangers for dinner and (almost karaoke) drinks for a fan based gathering? Or maybe it's because of all the lovely ladies (alright... two) that attend? |
