Tell me please.Adam's apple is the term for the lump of cartilage protruding from a man's throat which 'bobs' up and down when he swallows, etc. - the voice box or the larynx (or as Marc likes to call it, the larnyx! - Sorry Marc, couldn't pass that one up! not with that set-up ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adams_Apple I got Haunted Air(Thank you, Bluesman Mike) - Kenji - 02-25-2005 jimbow8 Wrote:Adam's apple is the term for the lump of cartilage protruding from a man's throat which 'bobs' up and down when he swallows, etc. - the voice box or the larynx (or as Marc likes to call it, the larnyx! - Sorry Marc, couldn't pass that one up! not with that set-up ) Oh! Wouldn't that mean an adams apple in english, or will the translation be different, like lump in throat? Nodo...throat botoke(hotoke)...Buddha* *Once, ancient Japanese imagined bones of Adams's apple looked like sitting Buddha. In America, it's Adam. In Japan, it's Buddha......hmm, this is interesting. See this link. You can see flickering pictures. That's bones of Nodobotoke. http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~chiro-/sonota/tore-nodo.htm I got Haunted Air(Thank you, Bluesman Mike) - Kenji - 03-01-2005 Now, I reached page 217. And I found this two words, "IRS" and "AAPR". What does that mean? (Jeez......I need replace my dictionary) btw, I like Kenton Brothers. They are now my favorite characters. "yo!" And I found this two words, "IRS" and "AAPR".IRS is the Internal Revenue Service, a department of the US gov't responsible for collecting taxes. AARP is the Association for the Advancement of Retired People, an association of people to promote the welfare of senior citizens. (I think this is what you mean, because I can't find AAPR.) If you have trouble with some of these initials, try checking http://www.dictionary.com. You will probably be able to find it there. Thank you! Well, Japan also has IRS. We call it 国税庁 (Kokuzeicho). I got Haunted Air(Thank you, Bluesman Mike) - Kenji - 03-28-2005 Now, I reached to page 445. While I'm reading a book, I always imagine characters = actors. Jack is Cole Hauser, Charlie is Jamie Foxx, Eli Bellitto is Christopher Walken, Adrian is The Rock, Strauss is Joe Mantegna. And, most important character in this book, Lyle Kenton. At first, I thought he is Lenny Kravitz, but now I think he is Gary Dourdan. He was in CSI. He is perfect for Lyle Kenton. What do you think? Lyle Kenton=Gary Dourdan I got Haunted Air(Thank you, Bluesman Mike) - Maggers - 03-28-2005 Kenji Wrote:.... I think he is Gary Dourdan. He was in CSI. He is perfect for Lyle Kenton. What do you think? Kenji, I agree 100%. That is exactly who I saw in the role as I re-read "The Haunted Air" last week! |
