I Agree with him. Regular Coors is OK for a standard American Lager. In California we get the 18 packs, it's not bad when it is 105 outside and you are cooling down in a pool. Good Beer: Mexican Negro Modelo ------- forget "evils" such as Corona. Optimator. Delicious Dopplebock from Spaten brewery. Home brewed brown ale when made properly. Yeungling - first had it at a Pirates game - PNC park Pittsburgh, and speaking of Pittsburgh - when I was back there in school in the eighties, I would buy a couple cases of Iron City Dark every autumn (along with two flats of some cheap beer like Old Milwaukee talls) Jacks Beers? - AbeGrossman - 09-03-2011 Corona (no lime) was his choice of beer in haunted air, hosts and the tomb Jacks Beers? - matember - 09-03-2011 AbeGrossman Wrote:Corona (no lime) was his choice of beer in haunted air, hosts and the tomb I always drink beer.... and when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. I'd rather drink club soda than any light beer...except for Michelob Ultra. It's acceptable when it's 110 outside and you need a cold beer, and nothing else is available. My favorite summertime beer, however, is Summer Shandy from Leinenkugel. People gasp in shock...it's 10% lemonade. But, boy, does it go down easy on a hot day. Jacks Beers? - Jebur27 - 09-09-2011 I recall that Jack disdained all light beers. I'm not a big beer guy (though I like one now & then), but I have to agree: No Light Beer! Jacks Beers? - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 09-14-2011 Ah donno...to me a brew's a brew. I drink 'em 'cause ne foster-father did, and to courage me up for karaoke night. "This is a song by Pavarotti... Oh? No Pavarotti tracks tonight? Yo, dude! Tone that shit down! You kiss your baby with them lips? OK. If Nancy will help me sing it, KNOCKING ON HEAVEN'S DOOR." (Which I don't butcher too badly.) In that case, Mike, you may as well drink denatured alcohol with club soda added to it. I admit to being a bit of a beer fanatic. I just don't have the time or money to expend in brewing my own. Just like coffee...why roast my own beans when Eight O'Clock does such a great job? I can go down to Four Peaks Brewery, SanTan Brewery, or (a short road trip) the Nimbus Brewery if I get a craving for a very tasty craft beer. And, Mike, I have a disclaimer on the karaoke list I carry with me to parties. "A lack of talent on your part is not a problem on my part." I actually had a woman get angry with me because "the lyrics are moving too fast on the screen" when she was trying to sing "La Bamba" (chucklesnortguffaw). Jacks Beers? - Sigokat - 09-15-2011 beer snobs are annoying, especially at parties. If you don't like what I bought for MY party (its not enough that I'm buying the beer and food) then go get your own shit. If I'm a guest, I'll damned well drink what they provide, go without, or bring my own to share. And I will do so without complaint. Same with the food. If I have special dietary restrictions, I'll bring my own food to the party. It's called "manners", which, sadly, are getting rarer every day. |
