Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:I'd like to see Paul write an alternate-history novel.

Say, the Stones didn't play Altamont.

The Monkees did.

Awright, a joke.

Say the Beatles did. Meredith Hunter was knifed during HEY JUDE.

We would never hear the song the same way.

Hey now, don't be dissing my Monkees, Blues! Not many groups can make it to a 45th reunion tour and sell out shows Cool

As much as I love the LaNague series (and of course the Adversary & Repairman Jack series), I vote for just whatever the man wants to write. Something purely from his own inspiration sounds juts fine to me.

An action story, set in the 80's, featuring a strong lead character (Similar to RJ, or Jake Nacht).

This struck a chord with me. Now, don't misunderstand what I'm about to say! I'm a huge fan of the RJ series and anxiously await each instalment BUT having just read Dydeetown World and Black Wind I don't think RJ is FPW's best work. I can see it's his most succesful work because it "caught on" but not his best, solely in my view obviously. Maybe if he had written them after the RJ series instead of before they would have bought him the acclaim they (and he!) deserve. That's why I voted for something new. I like suprises and the last two FPW books I read suprised me.

AH, now that is VERY fair point!

Sorry, I think we all got a bit carried away with that question.

Na, na, na, nah, na! I didn't. Big Grin
Maggers Wrote:My current and former husbands are writers. I would not request that an author follow my wishes to write what I want to read. I'd rather he follow his bliss.

That said, Paul, whatever you write, I will read.

Anything but romances about sparkly vampires, or werewolves.

Unless it's about a chick who can't decide whether to choose a vampire or a werewolf.
