Noodle Wrote:Oh, yeah, Kingdom Come is fantastic. Great story, top notch art, classy work all the way around.

Thinking about rereading George MacDonald Fraser's Flashman series. Love that series.

Yes indeed!

Last night I finished it. I love it!

Now I'm reading The Doomsday Prophecy by Scott Mariani.

I love Flashy. Rogue, coward, womanizer...

But redeemed by his self-honesty.

"Arise, Sir Harry!"

I would have loved to see him meet an older Horatio Hornblower.

The Admiral of the Fleet: "Step aside, cur. You're in the way of my spit."

just finished The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb.
Great book ... weird but I've been reading a lot of haunted books recently ...

I will be starting Fleshbags by Gerald Rice shortly.

I just blew through Cape Town in Roger Smith's Mixed Blood, an excellent pitch black noir. Like most good noir, the setting is as much a character as any of the people and Smith brilliantly weaves the exoticism and danger of Cape Town into the story. And while no one is innocent, Gatsby-a crooked cop-is one of the most vile villians I've encountered in awhile. A definite must for noir fans.

I'm reading a collection of post-apocalyptic short stories called Wastelands. So far most of the stories are decent, some kind of meh though.

I'm reading the monster hunter series by Larry Correia. Larry is the answer to the frustration and yelling (much to my childrens amusement) I go through every time I watch a monster/horror flic where no one has bothered to bring along any guns to shoot the bad guys/monsters with. Its gun porn and every evil monster you ever heard of all wrapped up into a fun to read series.

Been tearing through a bunch of graphic novels that I'll list if anyone wants to know but I'm mainly posting to recommend Low Town by Daniel Polansky. Its a fantasy noir and a good ending away from being the best book I've read this year. Of course I haven't read The Dark At The End yet, but soon.

I'm finally going to be sitting down with The Fury by John Farris. I always hear so many great things about this author but the first book I ever read by him didn't really work for me, so now I'm going to be giving this one a try since many people have suggested it to me.

I love John Farris. My first was Son of the Endless Night. Great book!
