She thought that after Gia and Vicky are gone, My mom was afraid that Jack will become suicidal. And when he faces R, He will have nothing to live for. He will have a special gun that can kill R, but R is faster than a bullet. What Jack decides to do is He rushes R, grapples him and pulls the trigger, and it kills both Jack and R. And this women is always correct, Wouldnt that just suck!
