First RJ Novel? - Pacal - 09-03-2008 [quote=The Karl]I remember reading The Keep, The Tomb, and The Touch all during high school in the late 80sQUOTE] Me too, The Keep, the movie was great...For me... in the 80's. I'd love to see the director's cut. The book blew me away. Hat's off to the original paperback marketing teams. It was the cover similarity to The Tomb that made me buy it. Still one of the best reads ever. Then The Touch and the natural progression to Nightworld. When the first serial RJ book came out, a commitment began. I've also collected just about everything else in hardcover. Black Wind is amazing, definitely one of FPW's best. First RJ Novel? - JessC_Timekiller - 09-15-2008 Hi, I'm still kind of new here, but I was wandering if you guys had any suggestions for a non-repairman FPW book, I've read most of the RJ books and was hoping to take a (very short) break from Jack. The Adversary Circle. Vital to the Jack books. First RJ Novel? - Bluesman Mike Lindner - 09-15-2008 Libby Wrote:The Adversary Circle. Vital to the Jack books. Libby, what we need is... It was a quiet night at Julio's. The storm kept everyone at home. Jack looked at his watch, took a pull from his Sam Adams, and tried to watch the Knicks absorb another beating. She said she'd be here by now... Well, maybe the storm is holding her up. Give her another half-hour. Why not? He had time. Gia and Vicks were out in the Midwest, seeing Gia's mom and dad. Jack smiled. Just thinking about his ladies would make him smile. "Yo, Julio! Refill needed!" The door opened. A slight woman in a brown leather jacket stepped in, and said, "Poor babies!" to the dead plants. "Great," Jack thought. "Just what I need. A nut case." But he'd agreed to meet her. She came closer. Jack felt the blood quickening in his loins... "Are you Jack? Hi! I'm Nora Roberts." First RJ Novel? - Libby - 09-15-2008 Bluesman Mike Lindner Wrote:Libby, what we need is... Paul is...how to put this...a fictioneer who uses shock only when the logic of the story demands it. Other, less-skilled, writers build their stories around "effects", with plot and characters chasing for attention. |
