I enjoyed it very much - it was a rare occasion where I enjoyed a film more than a book

I saw this today and I will say that I enjoyed it alot. I saw the last one while I was downrange, in a crowded theater of Soldiers, so it was hard to follow due to the extra noise and the poor quality of the theater and trying to understand British kids in the middle of puberty was too much.

However, Order of the Phoenix was good IMO. Yeah it was dark, but it seems that is the way the story is going which I think is good for the series since the kids are growing up and the Dark Lord is gaining more and more power with each new movie.

I've only read the first book, but I'm not one who would destory a movie if it wasn't true to the novel...look at Jurassic Park...loved the book AND the movie, but there are major differences in both...and that is just one example.

Overall, I think the Harry Potter series is one of the better ones out there...now if they could only keep the Resident Evil series alive with this new movie in September I will be happy (even though I have to watch that one is the desert as well!!)

I saw it last night and was pleasantly surprised that I liked it a lot, better than any of the previous Potter movies.

Harry Potter- Order of the Phoenix - Maggers - 08-01-2007

I saw HARRY POTTER - THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX in Chicago and loved it. As much as I love Cuaron's PRISONER OF AZKABAN, I now think ORDER OF THE PHOENIX is the best of the Potter films. That's saying a lot, for me. Yes, it's a big book to cram into one movie, but the director does a great job. The movie flows well, is very exciting and very, very dark. It's been a treat to watch the young actors grow up before our eyes, and they are all turning into credible actors.

Now for the IMAX version. Big Grin

Harry Potter- Order of the Phoenix - Maggers - 08-05-2007

Woo Hoo! I saw ORDER OF THE PHOENIX in IMAX and... 3D! The big wizard battle was in 3 D, and it was a killer. I didn't know the movie would be in 3D, so it was quite a thrill. I highly recommend it.

ORDER OF THE PHOENIX was even better the second time around.

I have to agree, lots to enjoy on a second viewing (the first fifteen minutes seemed like a new film, Maggers Wink )

Much more political, a nice direction to counteract the normal need for 'bigger' and 'better'. The cast are coming into their own. Good stuff.

I haven't read the books, by some of the earlier comments I'm glad of that.
